Hey I haven't made it terribly far into the game, only level 14, but I have been noticing the exp enemies give you compared to quests is just awful. It seems bad enough that I would actually level up faster if I didn't fight anything aside from the exact number of quest enemies that I need....Anyone else feel the same?
Depends on mob.
Trash mob will give you trash exp, while ogre type mob(big, slow, durable) will give you huge amount.
But generally, unless you do foundry quest with lots of ogres, its much better and faster to just do quests, killing whatever aggroed, but nothing else.

Not sure if serious or I just don't understand.....
Its very easy to level in this game, in fact too easy. I would like to see a nerf in quest xp at least to slow down the power leveling. I started a new character and avoided both foundry and pvp, as well as partnered with a buddy of mine just to experience all the quests that slipped past me on my first one.

You completely missed my point, try reading it before you ask if I'm serious. I was talking about the difference between quest exp and enemy exp. Quest exp seems ridiculously high and enemy exp seems ridiculously low, making it pretty much worthless to fight enemies, aside from those big ogre dudes.

In one of Cryptic's earliest games, City of Heroes, the XP ratio for monsters vs mission completion was much higher than in their later games. In a way this was good, as it allowed players to "street sweep" to level up. When they created Champions Online, they reversed that, where enemies only gave a token amount of XP, but completing missions game a much larger amount of XP. NW seems to follow Champions' pattern, so sticking to just what the mission asks of you, then returning to turn it in for the completion XP is probably best.
To be honest, I've also thrown in a few of the bonus XP gems since I find that I'm typically a level or 2 below what the suggested level is for a given area, (I do all side quests but don't do foundry missions).

Thanks for the replies, I was really hoping it was just my imagination or it will get better as I get higher level but oh well I enjoy gathering and killing a bunch of enemies while I quest....I guess that's not the way the developers want the game to be played. Kinda dumb IMO it shouldn't be more beneficial to skip all enemies...

I can tell you with a good amount of confidence, that the way enemies are positioned typically makes it very difficult to skip fights, (unless you're good at maneuvering or are a rogue that's stealthed). It's one of the reasons why the faster mounts go for so much money...

Very stupid IMO.
It discourages grouping and encourages solo only. I didn't like how it worked in CO.
I really miss the model of CoH (not saying I want leveling to be as slow as that), where grouping was ALWAYS the best Exp.
In this case, it would be nice if dungeons and skirmishes were the fastest way to level, grouping should always be. Way more fun.

And gladly so...
I want this class in NW.
