Memorial Day, though often taken advantage of by retailers in the USA, is a holiday that is meant to honor our military service members who have lost their lives in service to their country over the years. While you may see many gaming companies celebrate Xmas, Halloween or Easter with sales, Memorial Day is "hallowed ground" that many companies would be better off not trying to exploit for profit. Put more simply, a Chinese publisher would receive a lot of backlash if they offered AD sales tied directly to Memorial Day. It would be considered disrespectful to say the least. Cryptic, an American company, knows this and that is why no specials tied to Memorial Day have been announced.

Indeed, this is why you would never see a Japanese automaker offer a Memorial Day sale.
"Participation in PVP-related activities is so low on an hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly basis that we could in fact just completely take it out of STO and it would not impact the overall number of people [who] log in to the game and play in any significant way." -Gozer, Cryptic PvP Dev

The Japanese automakers selling cars here (most of which are now built and sold in the USA because it's cheaper than exporting and shipping to the USA) fall into the group of USA retailers as they employ all American workers in their US based car dealerships. Also, there is unfortunately a decades long precedent for car sales on Memorial Day. There is, however, no precedent for a fantasy based MMO taking advantage of this holiday.
