When I log into the game, it will only accept my full email address. I'm not sure what it's looking for as an account name. When I log into the forums here or on PW's account management page, it gives me what I'm assuming is my account name, but even copy/pasting into the field on the launcher will not work.
Not the end of the world, I can still get into the game. Just a pain having to type the full email address out each time, especially since I switch between two accounts.
Well, the bunch of numbers I suspect is a tokenization of the account that gets plugged into that field. What's truly odd is that it seems to be random and arbitrary when it shows up. Another mystery for another day, I guess.
Still, would like to know why some folks can't use their account name to log in.
Thank you for your kind thoughts, it's just these sorts of wonderful and empathetic responses that keep me coming back.
In reply to your sublime and thought-provoking rejoinder, I would hope a member of the community who might have hit upon a solution to this conundrum might see this post and be kind enough to respond with the means to correct it.
Again, my heart-felt thanks for you taking the time from your busy schedule to post your insight and wisdom. Bless your sir and/or madam, bless you.

Perfectworld's login system is HAMSTER and needs to be fixed. I actually had a friend at Cryptic tell me they know it is HAMSTER but the fix needs to come from Perfectworld, they have no control.
Ever ask a halfling to watch over your stuff while you visit the privy? Was it there when you returned?
I rather suspected it might have something to do with something wonky on PW's end. I suspect many such things are due to Cryptic's hands being tied by the rope in PW's deep pockets. Still, it makes one wonder why it works for some folks and not for others.
