Anything that I post is simply my opinion based on my game play experience, please feel free to disregard my ramblings as nothing more than the idle musings of a person who believes in this game and wants to put forth his opinions on issues that he finds personally important.

I read everyones thoughts and consider their opinions. Is any one one person more correct than the other? I doubt that. As has been written by many on these forums, we all have different interests and game play styles, that is going to influence our discussions. I don't take offense to anyones suggestions, in fact, many of those same suggestions have made me reconsider my opinions on various matters.

    Nuff said about that,

    My Best,

There is only one fact in this world.

    There is no spoon.

This fact gives birth to various other facts like:
So you can't eat your cake.
    The cake is a lie.
If they don't have bread give them cake.
    The bread needs a spam.
    Spam is from troll.
    etc...

But there will always be only one fact.

    EDIT: 2+2 is not four.

Easy-to-grasp adventure creation tools empower players to add their own tales to the Forgotten Realms campaign setting. Bring compelling quests to life and build challenging levels! Share creations with the entire world in-game. Become a part of the existing Dungeons & Dragons universe... Then build a new one
    .

No matter what any other MMORPG has to offer, this tops it all. NWN's grestest value was it's mod editor. This may top that.

No worries. I love a good civil debate and I think we've both done amicably in portraying and respecting our differentiating opinions. I do have a better understanding and respect for your thoughts as well. I just hope I didn't come across as hard or sounding as though I was being rude. I wanted to clearly portray why I didn't agree with your replies and opinions in relation to my replies and opinions.

Not to derail the off topic discussion and squash Mr Stumpy Paws into a bloody squirmy spot

but the more I see of this game the more I think we need some kind of gear grind or end game that doesn't involve rolling an alt.

I wonder if it would be possible to incorporate this idea with some other endgame ideas to create some kind of interesting endgame.

Recently I copied a post from some other forum which presented a very good argument to support what you said.

The game was supposed to be co-op play. Thus it was slated to have a really good single player game like story. When it was changed, stromshade assured us on this forum (his post somewhere archived would still be here) that the quest storyline has not been dropped.

Hence the official quest storyline would be very rich and story driven unlike MMO.

I have to disagree. I have found SWtoR's and LotRO's main story-lines to be very fun, exciting, engaging, and good. That is just my opinion which will vary or be similar to each every player experiencing them. Valid opinions cannot be true or false and that is exactly what your feelings towards "MMO Stories" are in the context of your post. My apologies for my disagreement, I just find it hard to sit by and let an opinion be portrayed as fact.

Story-lines are my major enjoyment in MMOs. I even enjoyed STO's story-line on multiple characters as well as even am enjoying the lacking KDF story-line. That is just me though, which is also evident in my taste for movies. I often am found loving movies that a great number have written poor reviews for, which is because I have an extremely active and vivid imagination, getting deeply into the telling of Stories and Plots more than I do the acting and cinematography.
Yeah I agree that I believe this game will have good story(Cryptic main campaign). Lets not forget WOTC who is an active partner. Neverwinter 1 and 2 did not have some super good story, but they were at least ok. I would suspect Neverwinter MMO has same quality or slightly better story then NWN1 and NWN2.

That said story alone can not be endgame for me. A powerplateau should not be fast reached though game does not need to be so ultra hardcore as WOW.

As for PvP I hope and dream there would be also Capture The Flag game mode supported. Of all WOW battlegrounds I liked Capture The Flag maps most and I also loved CTF in FPS Unreal Tournament 2004.

I can't say that I know ninja movies that I can recommend. That said I like Mortal Combat(1995) movie and it has many cool none human enemies.

A piece of a movie review that I wrote:
This is Mortal Combat fight! Don't worry it will have actors of other races this is certainly not Asian actors only. For example liked Beautiful Sonja and Johnny Cage characters... and some of the opponents are very cool. A note some of opponents are none-human and have special supernatural powers!

My friend rated Mortal Combat(1995)to 7/10 as good. I have trained Martial Arts and only thing that is not realistic is the wall through entering... and at the end when Liu Kang kicks many times and glides in the air. The other fights are more realistic, but I like this fight and music very much!

I also agree that Swtor and Lotro both had great stories. Unfortunately once i finished it the end game content was lacking in both games. Swtor really made you into the hero of the story. It was quite satisfying... unfortunately after finishing the heroic story of the Gunslinger, Jedi Shadow and the Trooper there still was not much end game content to keep me going.

I personally find sandbox games keep me going for much longer than any themepark game.

I personally find sandbox games keep me going for much longer than any themepark game.

I hate always bringing up EVE, but the designers certainly did some things right with the layout of the game. I did nothing but stay in high sec space and low sec for close to a year, running missions and stuff while I built a skill set for my main and for an alt that would let me venture out into the great unknown, 0.0 space, which was essentially the bulk of the sandbox game. Once out there, the game took on a whole new dimension and hooked me for several years to come. When I finally took a break from the game, I had over four active accounts, 12 alts or so, and I was spending almost as much time online playing as I did working my real life job. I admitted I was an addict at that point and reevaluated my life and moved forward.

Sandbox games are interesting in that they do not require any input from the developers. You live and work outside of their development cycles. You play the game as is, win or lose and you enjoy yourself.

While this game isn't (as yet) designed to have a sandbox element, I really think that the Foundry will go a long way towards providing interesting and rewarding game play experiences for the players who reach endgame. I can forsee myself getting a group of guildies or friends and tackling some of the offerings that the Foundry has to offer. Laughing and dying (no I don't wish to comment on a death penalty) and enjoying the game. I hold the opinion that the Foundry will be the icing on the cake in respects to this game and I look forward to seeing what the devious minds of the players will create in this regard. Something tells me when I complete the story line quests and the other quests the designers implement, I will have many more, equally rewarding quests that will challenge my character and those members that I game with.

My two cents, feel free to disregard,

    My Best,

    Ezra Steel

DDO already did this, kinda, after you capped a character you could reset them to beginning level and re-level them with bonuses and some gear.

The story is far from over. I still have to slay a white dragon to say I've killed all five colors of the chromatic and godslaying. Godslaying was a staple of 4th edition right from the get go with the first monster manual. I'm excited to see some new races; The foundry already has a few that can easily be modified to player characters with attribute bonuses and two traits. Classes..well we are getting the warlock and the ranger down the line. So much for the ruined economy when these toons have to gear up. Future classes...I heard a dev mention they really like Bards. But I can also say this: the roles are already really redundant. Im not sure what a new class can offer...buffing, I suppose.

This is probably the stupidest (MMORPG) concept I have ever heard, at this point the game become about whose been their the longest; no skill required, just time. What happens if you wanna play a Control Wizard again, you have to repeat it all? Then once you do it 5-6 times, there aren't any other classes to play, even more repetition.

There is no real "End Game" right now.

I've completed all current content on two characters already. None of it was challenging. I'm hoping Gauntylgrim will prove to be different. And I'm hoping for raid content that is actually challenging in order to keep this game alive. If people can go in and defeat all your content this early in the game then there is no sustainability.

Here's a better idea for end game.

    Progression 20 man raiding.
    Progression PvP, ranks, titles etc
    Open World PvP
Guild ranks, quests, achievements, titles, capes w/ logos & keeps
