Hello all, first post. I've read that music/sounds from the "special" tab do not work when published. I read another thread that stated changing sound in "Edit Backdrop" would work. However, I do not see an option to add sound there.
Even in the foundry, if I add ambient music to rooms, the ambient music from every room plays all at once, in any room. I haven't read about anyone else having this particular problem.
I'm a bit disheartened after putting over 100 hours into my (still unpublished) foundry dungeon, only to be having sound trouble toward the end. It really would detract from the atmosphere to not have audio.
Do any of you have suggestions that might work? Thank you for your time and I appreciate any assistance.
Same thing here gil. I think I read a fix is coming, so we just need to be patient. You can leave the sounds in, and it will eventually work when the fix goes out - I'm hoping anyway.
Unfortunately the only way to put music is to place it in the room ambiance and you can only use 1 music track through the whole map as they will overlap, as you discovered.
Fix is coming, stay tuned(tm).
There is a rumor floating around that I am working on a new foundry quest. It was started by me.
Yea, I had music picked out for every room using the ambiance selection. Unfortunately due to the overlap I had to remove all of them except for one. The music will loop for 10-15 minutes and then stop, but that's better than no music I suppose.

I haven't published my Foundry work yet, but music works for me when I test it. Not sure if that will change when published, please let me know.
What I do is use no music for the main map setting at all. I add sounds and select a music track then trigger it to play (show) when the player reaches certain components or completes certain objectives. To get music to play right away set a sound to play when your first objective is in progress.
Warning: some looping music plays sometimes then not other times, so avoid those tracks for now. Use ones that play each time you test it in preview mode or each time you play it in the Foundry map tab.
Everything works fine in preview mode, but when published nothing will work save for ambience in dungeon maps.
Had this problem with two fights in my module when music was supposed to change (with use of placed objects). Untill Cryptic will fix it, nothing can be done.

Don't work when published, or don't work in Preview mode?
