PVP - A GWFs Plead For Help

Hey guys,

I ran some pvp with a few friends tonight and I was getting wrecked. I'm in mostly T1 gear so I feel like I'm somewhat geared but it was awful. I was getting one shot, I actually got hit for 25k or dying before hurting anyone.

Part of the problem was I couldn't hurt anyone either. I unloaded three encounters and the CWs health didn't move.

I guess I'm just looking for a few pointers and some useful skills.

Any help would be appreciated.

No pointers to be had. This is the state of the game as it stands. Nothing you can do about it until Cryptic pulls their heads out of one another's ***. GWFs are fine. A little tweaking needed but overall fine. The problem lies with other classes being over the top ridonkulous with set bonuses and ability combos.

    You're not doing anything wrong.

The #1 thing Cryptic needs to do is do away with shield stacking. That alone is destroying PvP and PvE. From that point on there's a list of **** that needs sorting but they're pretty much all about the same priority in my eyes.

Would not say that GWF's are fine I think the other class maybe a little over the top but after doing alot of endgame dungeons and seeing how challenging they are with no GWF's in the party I think it's all the other classes that are fine, a few tweaks need to be made like the stacking astral shield thing and maybe the knocking mobs into pits exploit... maybe.

But yeah there is just no excuse for a 900 damage GWF to hit for 500 damage a wack with sure strike there single target at will. When a GF's 600 damage sword deals 900 damage a wack with aoe cleave.

GWF has decent chances to bring down most opponents with unloading master strike, flourish, battle strike, takedown, some at-wills if needed.

Just sprint in and out from fights as needed, attack wounded enemies, you can usually catch them quickly.

But yes, cleric duo is broken, and often next to useless even fight against, I prefer cap race against those.

If we were role playing, a big 2H sword on smashed on someone's skull should deal more damage than someone throwing a dagger at ranged right?

No he doesn't. I was a gfw before rerol. Full t2. GWF skills animations are sooooo pretty... but freaking long and thus useless cause each pvp encounter has two phases of animation and dmg connects on the second part. During the first one u can evade the skill, as a rogue after having a little practice with my guild buddy I can evade 8\10 gwf encounters. With some good practice u can do 10\10 no problem. Pretty but **** useless... my gwf is still gathering dust waiting for decent buff btw.

Long *** skill animation for skills like Cresendo and Intominable weapon Strike. You can temporary remedy it by using animation cancelling by using Sprint to cancel the animation and let you move again unfortunately that also eats up stamina which makes you stamina less on when you really need it.
