I have been pretty supportive of Cryptic through all of this, though I too have to express disappointment that the cape didn't come with a cosmetic slot. Now it just seems kinda silly because how often are you really gonna wear it?

When you have nothing to do and just run in circles in town, which would be a lot... for me.

This item is nothing more than a slap in the face to the beta testers who tried to save the game from the exploits.
Absolutely fitting that it come out as buggy as the rest of the game..Karma, .

All the capes and robes are like this to some extent, not just the cat one... I do have to agree that we need more fashion slots on our fashion page though....
It looks like an apron on female characters because we all know that women belong in the kitchen...
Jokes apart, it's an old issue on cryptic games. It's like characters with tails. Sit and your tails gets inside the ground. Of course many players have been asking for a fix and nothing has been done so far. Maybe cosmetic updates aren't a priority.

Or maybe the engine can't handle it. While it may be a "cosmetic update" I'm sure the amount of work probably isn't trivial.

lol SLAP IN THE FACE! You sure seem bitter. Why are you still even playing if you hate it so much?

Yup. It all depend on the engine. Can it handle certain things? I am not familiar with the detail of each gaming engine type, but some engine can't handle certain clipping unless the art group code it properly (or as best as they can)
back in the day, long hair cause a lot of clipping. That is why new MMO have short hair and SOME long hair. You hardly see "overflowing" long hair (wouldn't that be nice)
Is that dude behind you getting kicked in the balls? Sure looks like it
ps. He looks quite gracefull. I'd be on the floor already
He's getting crotch shotted by her bum foot!
And in relation to cape physics in this game being bugged, it boggles the mind as to why. Neverwinter Online is basically the same as Champions Online (also owned and run by Cryptic) and CO doesn't have the cape-physics issues NWO does. So why didn't they just implement CO's cape physics into NWO seeing as they're basically the SAME ENGINE?
This is pure speculation, but I think it might have something to do with how the torsos in Neverwinter's models are connected to the lower half of the body. I remember reading some blog about how they created the Dryder models in the game, and had to do some creative engineering to basically get the top half of a drow model onto the spider model, and make them look seamlessly integrated when it was effectively just clever coding. The main reason I think of this is due to the way the cape tends to get caught just over the torso "socket" on the model's skeleton. I could be way off though, just speculating.

Mind = Full of boggle.
Umm....every cape I've worn in CO has done the very same thing to me, and I see capes doing it all the time on random NPC heroes in Club Caprice. Also, whenever I walk by anyone wearing a cape, it "pops" up and over the head of the model. Sometimes it gets stuck there.
Face it, Cryptic has copy/pasted yet more buggy code from other games into this one.
I think its kinda funny I would wear it purely as a joke item, just wish it took up a fashion slot not a real gear slot, as inventory space is always so **** tight.

I'm not even mad, this game is already revving up to be the greatest meme-tastrophy of all time.
Also, anyone want to buy a cat? Very meaty, cooks good in a stew.
OMG ROFL! ...so true

There appears to be a foot coming out of your bum.
Oops, I try to keep that tucked in but it keeps wriggling out!

Please review my campaign and I'll return the favor.

Better just to stand still while wearing it.
STO doesn't have the same problem either.
LOL I love your hat

Which makes it even more confusing as to why Neverwinter Online does, it seems like a case of utter laziness and unprofessionalism.
i have neck items disabled on default because i HATE this clipping **** if im on my mount or just run
