voice acting

I'm not entirely sure if this is the right area for my post, and forgive me if some of the voices are just temporary, but....

Am i the only one who finds the voice acting a bit.... lacking.... for want of a better word. Don't get me wrong its not all bad by any means, and wandering around the main town, all the extra background voices seem pretty good etc. However, the majority of voices related to accepting and turning in quests, seem to be done by just a handful of voice actors, especially the female voices which seem to be done by just one or two female voice actors.

Ontop of the lack of variety of voices, they don't seem to emphasise in the right places very often, which REALLY irritates me lol.

A few people i know and myself included have just started playing this game after having come from SWTOR, where the voice acting and fmv's are, in my opinion, extremely good (in fact its what drew me and a few others into the game).

Going from swtor to neverwinter though, almost all of us noticed how much better the questing was in swtor. Not necessarily the actual quests themselves, but the fact that almost all of the important quests in swtor have a great voice actor and a nice fmv behind them.

The most important difference for me however was the fact that in swtor, even if the same voice actor was used many times over, i never truly noticed that it was the same person doing the voices, unlike in neverwinter, where i've heard the same voice done very slightly differently for multiple quest givers.

I guess i just hope PW can spare the cash for some more voice actors before release, or at the very least, re-record the ones done already, but with emphasis on the right words lol

here is my take; yes, the voice acting in this game is laughably terrible at times, but, for a completely free to play game it's above and beyond what they could have done with just text dialogue. i really appreciate the effort put fourth to make the game what it is. swtor has top notch voice acting and they shelled out a few pretty pennies for it too. they released with a box sale and subscription plan. neverwinter has no such income plan outside of basically voluntary player contributions.

besides, voice acting is fluff. this is kinda like complaining your cake is delicious but you don't like how they applied the frosting. don't lose sight of what this game really is, a great free game.

Some of it is decent - the guy who does the voice of the Lich who wants you to find him a resting spot in Neverdeath Graveyard is great, for instance.

Some of the rest is just a problem with spam. The 400th time you hear any line spoken, it's going to grate.

And some of it is fairly bad. I have yet to play a game (yes, even SWTOR) where that wasn't true.
