I'm upset for a different reason.

Hello trolls,

So I have seen a lot of crying on the forums about why people are mad about the auction house and ADs. A lot of people are stating that they will continue to play (so will I) because the auction house will balance itself over time and the justification is that if you didn't exploit it, it does not effect your character or level progress.

In a sense you are right. But here's the deal... I paid real money to have an advantage. For you free to play players it does not make much of a difference. But for people who paid real money to obtain an advantage and head start they are basically getting ripped off of their money.

Here's an example (Yes an example, not saying it should happen). Lets say you bought the Hero's of the North foundry pack for $200.00. And lets say after 30 days of playing there was an exploit where everyone on the server then received the pack for free. Afterwards Cryptic's solution was to just roll-back the original exploiters and let everyone who obtained it by accident keep it for free. You would in essence, just been ripped off $200.00.

That's how I feel about the Zen I purchased. Everything I purchased has been HAMSTER by a million exploiters for free and then handed out like candy from a van in front of a grade school. I don't feel that a server wipe should happen, but with part of the bans and exploiter roll-backs they should refund a certain amount of Zen to the legit purchasers. It will be impossible to fully fix the economy and the damage already done other then to patch the exploits, roll-back and ban the major exploiters and then let time fix the economy.

But that was all the QQ I had. I finally was bored enough to make a post. So, now you trolls can educate me on how I am an idiot and have it all wrong. Troll on!

And HERE is the real reason people are upset. Pretty disgraceful.

Are you new to gaming and MMO's? If so, consider it lesson learned. If not, I don't feel sorry for you in the least.

I agree with you. companies like MMO creators should put a strict policy for cheating, abusing their systems.

Aside from the horrible "candy in a van" analogy, your point is well made shadedkin.

I haven't spent a cent on this game.

But I'm not against any wipes.

At the very least just give us a seperate server for everyone to start fresh.

I decided when i bought in that i would wait until everything was stable before even drawing down my ADs from the account bank they shove them in for purchasers... Really glad I did now.
Not that I don't fell that you were wronged. Especially considering that this 'beta' seems more like a release than a beta...

But they are calling it a beta and it is fairly early into the open beta... so things happen.

I mean this happened to Blizzard with D3 long after release so i don't know that i can specifically feel mad at PW... we will just have to see how they handle it.

    Haha what a loser.

I'm outraged at this whole ordeal but in your case I must say it's a great punishment.

Wow, I can understand someone paying for one of the packs simply because they felt it was a good deal or they liked the perks.

But to do it just so you can have some kind of advantage over the masses? Is your ego so small that you need to be elevated above folks simply to enjoy a game? Thats really kinda sad.

Or even if they wanted to support the development somehow.

Hello again, trolls. I'm back to respond. :)

And HERE is the real reason people are upset. Pretty disgraceful.

No, I am not new to gaming and MMO's. I started playing MMO's when Everquest 1 was released. I have pretty much played every MMO out there. I like Neverwinter for its action based combat. I have high hopes for Elder Scrolls Online also. And as far as other games, I have 463 bought games on steam. I do not torrent, exploit, hack, cheat in any form. And I have been blessed with a career I worked hard for so that I can support whatever game I want to play.

And how is asking a game company not to steal your money pretty disgraceful? I did not come up with the market plan. All I ask is they value what they sell.

How am I a loser by purchasing Zen for in-game products that they sell? Trust me, I much rather perfer a month-to-month subscription marketing model instead of having to purchase Zen for certain items, repecs or market place only companions. And also, it would remove many of the trolls that have no job and nothing better to do than wreck a good game.

Maybe you should re-read what you just said. You basicly just agreed with me. So you can see someone paying for a pack because it was a good deal or a perk they like? Thats right! Thats what I did for my advantage. All those founder packs gives you an advantage over other players. You dont think the mount will help people get around and do quests faster than a person who has to earn it? Do you not think potions or Astral Diamonds will not give someone an advatage starting out by reciving armor and goods that other people won't have? How about an epic pet? I like that perk. I bought one to help me level through the beginning levels. So yes, I like having an advantage to help me enjoy playing the game, like many others.

And I don't care what other people do. I like having the ability to increase the rate of my progress with out being ripped off of my money. As stated before, I would rather it be a subscription plan but that is not the case. So yes, I am upset that the devolpers are giving other people an advantage that was suppose to be exclusive to the funder's of the game.

all this turmoil is kinda funny to me since i actually decided to stop playing yesterday but due to zen store prices. i can't help wondering if this exploiting propped up the company's expectations for prices. basically, my theory goes that exploiters with free zen were buying zen things so perhaps the company was seeing the zen store prices as effective. sorry, i don't mean to change this to a discussion about the zen store and value-for-dollar.

i too would be thrilled to play this game for a monthly subscription fee. when i realized how much i was about to spend now on mounts and bags (advantage me!) and then researched how much i would spend on wards and keys in the future all just to be on par with others at the same level... well, it was just so discouraging. they can keep the $5 i spent on extra character slots and if they'd have charged $10 for the gateway browser crafting they'd have that too already. i'll come back later and check on extra classes but at this point i'm more likely to go drop +$45 on playing wow with my gf.
