I see companions stuck At gates and other zone entrances, is it only me or do you see it too? What is this and what's happening? It's so unpleasant and breaks immersion to look at. Is this something they are aware?
I've noticed things like this periodically. Also sometimes see one or two hanging out, outside a quest doorway. Odd.
and breaks immersion

God, I am so sick and tired of that phrase being tossed around willy-nilly at anything that bugs someone about a game. It's been used in so many different ways & different meanings that it's been reduced to meaningless buzzword status. I can barely even believe in it when someone's talking about a very atmospheric single-player game (like Skyrim), but in the case of an MMO? Where there's a billion people with moronic names surrounding you, the game doesn't react to anything (your questline says you've saved the zone! But all those enemy spawns are still here....), "unique" events can happen hourly (loved that in WoW - the broadcast announcements that Onyxia was finally Dead! <crowd cheers> Head displayed over gates, etc.... only for it to happen again. and again. and again.).... Oh, and the endless spam of incoherence that is Enclave chat.
Even if I believed in this "immersion" thing, I don't see how anyone could have it in these circumstances. (After all, I've read in other forums that just having to be in third person, or daring to have ANY kind of UI on the screen just utterly RUINS that precious "immersion" /facepalm)
What I think happens, is that whenever someone exits a gate with a companion summoned the companion has a ghost left behind. If so, this would be a bug from when it removes the player character from the source instance and recreates it on the destination instance. When it removes, it overlooks the companion and leaves it behind, masterless. I think this also happens when people zone to queued dungeons as well; leaving forlorn companions standing in the middle of town.
