is the auction house broke?

I hit 30 on my rogue and I normally upgrade all the alts I play's gear every 10 levels. went to the auction house and there isn't a single item on there with a buy out? and I checked every type and every possible selection and not a single item had a buyout.
I guess its possible that every single person using the auction house didn't put a buy out on anything but just seems odd.
why put a 5 day auction on a low level item, in 5 days I could be max level and that level 10 item would be useless..

    It seems like people don't know how to use it like in other MMOs. Why they don't is silly so I just ignore the AH as most of the stuff I see is worse that what I find in drops.

    the AH isn't broken.

    for whatever reason the majority of this community doesn't put a buyout.

    It makes zero sense for the reasons you've stated as one can easily undercut a tad, make it a 24 hour auction and PRESTO.

    Diamonds.

    I've had this happen, but not for a while. Even logging to character select did not fix it, but I think logging completely out did allow other items to show up.

    The auction has a LOT of bugs.

    Not a bug, but a usability issue, really.

    The AH should always suggest a buyout price. It doesn't. Providing a buyout price helps items move off the market faster. You really don't want items to sit on the market for the full (default) 5 days. It doesn't promote a healthy, thriving market.

    it always suggests a buy out price when I put an item in there? that's normally how I list my items. but I messed with it a bit and its just a buggy mess. like if you search a head slot "usable by you" on my rogue I get a listing of 26 items, no buy out on any. but if I type in "mask" I got 288 items and many with a buy out. though no matter what stat you choose it just lists them all, like even if you select that you're looking for items with "power" it will list all items including the ones without power as a stat at all.
    cryptic just REALLY needs to get it fixed.

    Well, it's sort of broken. You can't search by level range. Unless they fixed that this morning, I haven't tried today.

    yeah that facet of it is but in this case the OP was asking about the buyouts specifically.

    I have had the AH break and not show me anything with a buyout. There were maybe 200 items for my class in all of 'equipment' (this was a few days after open beta started) none of them with a buyout.
