Oh I was more focused on how it points out all of the seriously flawed things in Neverwinter.
$40 mounts.
Daily missions that take nearly ALL DAY to do.
The absolutely HAMSTER companion UI.
Need rolling on class only items for greed-like purposes.
The carbon copy boss fight philosophy "Boss is too easy, lets just add more mobs to the fight so the cleric dies, that oughtta do it"
Surely those are enough to make Cryptic NOT advertise gamebreakers review :P
Gamebreaker, heh. A "news" site that reports opinion as news. I've enjoyed some of their podcasts, but they are far from unbiased.
$40 mounts.
You know you don't need those, right? You can get free ones with gold, or pay AD you get in game. Heck, that's nothing to the $70 freaking monocle that EvE sold. This was also when no other player could see it. The speed boost is negligible, even in pvp where people are complaining the most, since the objectives are so close and you are fighting a group that gets there too, and the fist one to the node means ziltch.
Daily missions that take nearly ALL DAY to do.
Not even remotely. I can do the pvp daily in less than an hour most of the time, the others are just waiting on queues. Heck, you don't need to do ALL the dailies either, it's how often they are doable again. If you want to say "Takes all day to do", go to WoW and do ALL the dailies, you can't. Even if you just focus on the 25 it allows you, it takes a long time, but then try to do all that offered, you will need more than a day (if you could do more than the 25). Foundry ones are a cake walk, especially if you know them, four at 60, 15 mins or so each. Hour. Max. The dungeon one is the longest, mostly for queue and boss fights. This is a silly complaint honestly.
The absolutely HAMSTER companion UI.
Eh, show me a game with good AI, the best i've found is Bioshock Infinite and that's mostly Elizabeth, not the enemy mobs. All AI is HAMSTER, especially in MMOs. The best they could do is copy the STO controls for away teams.

1.) Meh. If you aren't looking at the cash shop prices assuming to pay for half of it with AD you're doing it wrong.
2.) Yeah, this is balls. I was pretty disappointed when my dailies started taking literally all day to do.
3.) Meh. Early on I knew that companions would only be useful for cosmetic purposes aside from the completely passive ones. I've never played any game with decent companion AI. I knew it wouldn't be any different here.
4.) Agree. At the very least, party leader should be able to set this rule.
5.) I have sorta mixed opinions on this. The adds keep every party member on their toes and ensure that you have to deal with the mechanics of multiple mobs, but it seems like it wouldn't have been too hard to, I don't know, add a trap or environment hazard here or there. Mostly I think end-game content was probably rushed out the gate for open beta. I'm hoping things become more interesting in the future, but I actually really like the boss fights right now. I'm usually only doing 1 or 2 a day, so they're not repetitive to me. I can see how the all-day-every-day MMO grinders would get fed up with it fast tho.

The Old Republic has great companion AI for an MMOG. They are also a lot more interesting than what we have here.
He isn't wrong about anything he said, I was personally expecting a hatchet job which Gamebreaker usually does on games that aren't WoW or LoL.
I especially agree with him about the companion AI, but do disagree about companions in five mans because many of us do a couple levels past the dungeon and run them with a friend and our companions, anyway not a bad write up.

It also took much more money to make it and isn't nearly as fun to play imo

Oh GameBreaker.. What a sham of a place.
That being said however, what the guy says isn't wrong -
Doing dailies is just an outright pain in the *** for what you get from them.
$40 mounts is excessive, it doesn't matter that you can convert AD or just simply not buy them. You should all be outraged at this pricing.
Companion AI IS dreadful. SWTOR comes to mind as a shining example of what this kind of AI should be. At least add in user controls for them like SWTOR had. This would improve the experience a lot, even if the AI remained dumb as a sack of rocks.
You know you don't need those, right? You can get free ones with gold, or pay AD you get in game. Heck, that's nothing to the $70 freaking monocle that EvE sold. He was probably going by the fact he doesn't HAVE months to spend on the title to grind out a top tier mount and so was looking at the more "reasonable" option, which was the cash mount, The Monacle was stupid, no one is going to argue that but the stupidity of one should not absolve the stupidity of those that come after, if anything it makes the pricing of the mounts even more silly.
But not anywhere NEAR as silly as the fact that they CAN sell it at those prices... and anyone questioning it is near enough pounced on and attacked repeatedly... and yes, I do find both sides have those with that rubbish mentality and flair for ad hominem.

Funny, i did not spend 40 bucks or even a penny on my mount.
Yeah, because 3 skirmishes which take about one hour max to finish all of them, and then maybe a 25-40 minute dungeon is ALL DAY.
Companion UI could use work, but it is a noncritical thing, they are there for basic support when questing, not when grouped.
All games will have that issue, welcome to the player created issue
IDK man, I do not recall ever feeling as though every boss is the same. Most bosses feel unique and to be honest memorable.
So clearly you dislike this game, that is fine, quit then. No one is forcing you to use zen, if you do and then feel burned it is all on you. You do not need to use zen to even remotely progress.

You can buy a really crappy mount for in game money. And to upgrade it it takes... diamonds.
For skirmishes, you spend most of your time waiting in queue and not everyone has all day to sit around and wait over an hour for each queue to pop, especially at higher levels when you need three or four to finish a daily and can quickly outlevel the queue for the current skirmish, making your progress worthless if you're questing at the same time. Dungeons aren't a big deal since the dailies are one and done at all levels.
You don't seem to get what people are complaining about. A bunch of convenience items that are free/craftable/earnable with standard in game currency (gold, in this case) in other free to play games are locked behind diamonds/zen and it seems to be a bit much. If you want to progress at a decent rate in crafting, you better expect to spend diamonds or you're going to outlevel anything of use to your character in no time if you play a decent amount of time.
As for clearly disliking the game... yeah, I didn't get that at all. Don't get all huffy and shake your angry pom poms, fanboy.

Yeah I'm sorry but that's nonsense, considering that's exactly how dailies play out, for the first twenty levels or so. Do you see people here complaining about that? Or just the repetitive late level dailies?

No game is gonna be perfect. I have been playing MMOs for the last 18 years (and have played from large scale and small scale MMOs that has ever been produced) and I have yet to find the perfect MMO. Every game has it's shining points and bad points, Neverwinter is not different. But I must say Neverwinter is one of the better ones currently out there and I plan to be playing for a long time.

I didn't find anything shocking in the review. Many of the complaints are accurate. The companions are dumb as bricks. If a 13+ year old game like Everquest can do companions better (mercenaries in EQ) than you that is a problem. At least on solo stuff since they aren't allowed in raids in EQ.
And boss fights that mostly consist of just crazy waves to make it 'difficult' are really tedious and generally lacking in imagination overall.
As far as the dailies go...
The only ones I mostly do are PvP because it's fairly quick and still somewhat enjoyable despite the AFKers.
At 60 you get one skirmish and honestly I'm sick of that one so I no longer bother.
The dungeon one I don't do because I rely on random groups and half the time you'll get to the last boss, wipe once, then half the group leaves which just ends up being a colossal waste of time.
Foundry ones.. Eh. They kind of suck at 60 since the scaling seems just a bit overboard at that point and you end up using more in consumable than you make. Maybe I'll give a couple others a try and see how it goes but overall I didn't really feel like doing Foundry missions at 60.
I am hoping the Gauntlgrym events will end up being enjoyable and not take forever to complete.
I agree with a lot of points about the article tho:
- Dumb NPC. They have just love to go stand in the middle of AOEs. Maybe adding a little bit of scripting in the AI npc something like "if $DMG_TAKEN = $AOE_DMG { $run_away }"

No, it isn't. Because those are "just an hour" for a small fraction of your AD refining limit. Which means to get that (and honestly, given how important AD is, from the auction, to in-game services, to exchanging for Zen... you want to get as much as you can) you do have to spend a large portion of your play time on those dailies. (Unlike their previous game, Star Trek, where I can slam out my entire daily dilithium refining in an hour. And I have about 3x as many ways to do it, group-required/group-optional/solo. Of course, that's partially a factor of the game being older, so there's been more content added. But, still.)
You can buy a really crappy mount for in game money. And to upgrade it it takes... diamonds.
Do NOT do this. If you convert the diamond cost of a single mount upgrade into Zen? You can just buy an equivalent-speed zen mount that will apply to all your characters. The AD price of those mount upgrades is seriously screwed up.
