PWE, This is not your IP

Ok, so I was following a post about the Zen store. During the whole post with over 17 pages, there were a lot of helpful suggestions for how PWE can improve it's model and for what PWE is doing that might chase people away. At the end a 'moderator' locked the post and moved it because it became 'too heated'. To me that seems like an attempt to quiet the masses. Obviously this is a topic a majority of the players feel passionate about. Some say 'If you don't like the F2P model quit playing'. It's not that simple. Cryptic/PWE has been entrusted with an old and time honored IP that many hundreds of thousands of people have grown up and grown old with. Standing by and watching things be done to that IP that hurt it feels personal. Do we the people own Dungeons & Dragons? In short no...we have no legal claim, yet by all circumstances we do own a piece of it. It's our dedication to the game that has made this a known name throughout the world. If the people didn't make a piece of this world our own, D&D would have faded into nothingness instead of spawn countless novels, two movies, multiple games of various media etc. Do right by us, the players, and we will stay faithful...but do us wrong and your game will fail. (SWG anyone?) The majority agree with the Zen store concept, but the implementation is lacking. Read the forums Devs and CEO's. Tweak it, Improve it and the game will flourish. But ignore the masses and this excellently made game will fail. Don't pull a Smedley and let the arrogant boy-king mentality prevail. i support Cryptic and PWE. I support this game. Now lets try and keep calm emotions and point out how they can improve on the system and why.

    it's their game. . .

. . .they negotiated the right to put DnD on the "box"

. . .they have every right to police their own forums. . .

Or maybe he closed it because the thread had devolved into a terrible mass of disease, pestilence and rotting comment sewn together in a disguting amalgamation of heaping vile sickness tearing its way through the community at an alarming rate.

Basically, people were more or less just insulting each other by the end of the thread when it closed, and it might spread to other, decent threads. Sometimes mods have to be the bad guys, but in the end, thats something we should thank them for, not form conspiracies about it.

Actually it is WoTC's IP and they had to work hand in hand with them to get acceptance for most parts of the game.

. . . . . I am not allowing Pay to Win arguments at this time, they are arguments without end and spark too much rule violations by those posting withi. However, here is a thread that is being allowed that touches on this topic. Thanks!

You guys missed the point. And it IS their game, but it is not their IP. This wasn't meant to start a flame war, it was meant to provoke meaningful discussion.
