So I have three questions that have been bugging me.
1. Are there things that can ONLY be obtained with Zen? (Zen only purchase)
2. How exactly do you earn Astral Diamonds? I heard you need to queue up and do a skirmish but I finished one and only received whatever copper I happened to find on the ground during the fights.
3. How much is considered a lot? I have seen things in game that run 160,000 Astral diamonds and they didn't even look that special so I figured it must have been nothing to experienced players, and in some guides I read they recommend buying all of the kits over and over so you are always ready to open something, but they run 1.5 silver each and at the moment that is 1/4 of my money.
Thank you.

1. Yes. Mostly cosmetic. Some are 'booster packs' designed to save time.
2. After level 11, learn invoke and do it daily. The first two times you get 'rough' Astral Diamonds. Those can be refined into ordinary ones. Sell stuff on the auction house to other players. Do the daily quests given by Rhix. Professions also reward AD.
3. You can make (according to some folks) at least 24K AD per day. Founders started with 600k (Guardian pack) or 2 million (Hero of the North pack). Personally, I carry 10-15 of the arcana/religion etc kits (for whatever my character cant' do naturally) around on my main character, the materials you can get for crafting pay off in the long run.
You can also buy AD for zen from other players, rate varies over time (it's steadily going down from 500 AD for 1 zen in the first couple of days to around 380 AD per zen last night. Folks expect it will settle at around 150-180 per once all the extra AD from the founders has dried up).

What's a lot? That's entirely subjective.
Thank you, all this information has helped me understand the game's currency a lot more.
