Constructive Criticism on Server Stability/Ranting

Alright so to start this off personally I never post in forums because I did not have a reason to do so. There are many topics so far the players of this game have pointed out that really stick and need to be heard.

I believe that seeing as this is a f2p game obviously not all of its players have ''invested'' their own money into the ''founding'' of this game. But there are still many who have, if this company wants to advertise spending your real money with a store and have had such a large influx of players they should equally realize they have an expectation as many have said before this is a product, paid for or not.

Iam personally let down by the lack of stability and maintenance at prime time with the servers, For everyone viewing shoot your ideas and make your point, feedback ladies and gents. If you made it this far in reading I greatly appreciate your time and effort. There is no community for a game without the people, and a lot are really pissed off lol :p

I agree OP, I am disappointed too. Personally I think the issue is one of not spending anywhere enough on infrastructure and staff or seriously underestimating loads. I don't have any suggestions about how to improve the situation as I'm not privy to what the issues are. It certainly looks like issues of overloading, in which case the only constructive thing I can come up with is half of us logging off until its sorted :(

I fully agree with what you have said, I think that Cryptic however considering this a ''open beta'' has really killed themselves with lack of preparation and response. Their communication to us as players is slow and very short handed. We honestly do deserve more customer service as it has gone right out the window. The greed I can already see in this is a huge issue, not only with the company themselves but also they are importing it into their players. Im not sure what the lifespan will be much longer

Well is not that the idea? To open a game with cash shop as a F2P game in beta.
There are a lot of bugs -> its a beta
I dont get any support all my characters are gone -> its F2P we owe you nothing.

Well these are the type of things that an open beta is for specifically. I mean a feature you dont like or the zen store wont change, so that really has nothing to do with an open beta

Except in a genuine "Open Beta" they wouldn't allow real money to be used to buy things - they'd give some sort of virtual Zen for purchases, to iron the issues out. By accepting money, they are obligated to get issues resolved ASAP.

At the very least, they should have a warning if you try to spend money, reiterating the uncertain nature of the game in its current state.

I think this man has a wonderful point here, this company isn't responding well nor are they communicating a lot of important issues that affect the people who support them in the first place.

The important question is why hasn't Cryptic brought back the log in queues, if only for the sake of server stability and managing load? After they have hard data on where they need to be, they can adapt their network infrastructure to meet the load.

Do we even know that it's a straight-up overload issue? Maybe the servers that they've been using for all 3 games just can't handle, well, running 3 games simultaneously.

The servers can't even support 150 people in an instance without lag spiking to hell sometimes.

If that wasn't bad enough, there's combat lag of about 150ms, despite pinging the server outside of the game for 32ms. This is terrible in an action oriented combat game.

They need to work on the infrastructure ASAP. I cannot fathom as to how they think they can have a single 'shard' to support the population.

    issues:

    1) companions stay in a zone when a player leaves zone, but doesn't enter another zone, or is still loading new zone (this includes logging out)

1a) fix is to ... find a way to make companions stop staying on map, even if player left.

    2) main city is by far, extreamly laggy durring peek times (though, not as bad durring non-peek)

2a) fix, lower the max players allowed per instance in main city

It seems that a lot of people take the defensive position that this is in ''open beta'' QQ less, to me that doesn't answer how this company has released a form of their product that is well lets be honest UNSTABLE/UNRELIANT however they are taking people who have spent 200$ on them and making them insanely pissed, I for one am fortunate enough to know I didn't throw that much cash into a product that I didn't know at least has quality service and communication to survive in this market, Flashing the fact that someone bought their Nightmare Horse every 10 seconds in town and having '' Buy the Founders package before its too late!! makes me feel they are literally sucking us dry and going to run off lol Short hand version is a ton of people feel ROBBED

If the issue is indeed the number of people in a zone at the same time, then the way to resolve said issue is rather simple:

    1. Disable companions in the large hub zones, like Protector's Enclave.
    2. Disable mounts while vending or talking to a contact.
    3. Reduce the maximum number of players that can be in the main hub zones at any given time - have it spawn more instances if needed.
    4. Disable the use of attacks/flashy powers while in these large hub zones.
