If you and another person wanted to make a duo of characters to play together all the time, what would be the two best classes to go together?

    Best in what regard?

Guardian Fighter and Devoted Cleric combo should work for everything even if it isn't the fastest. It should also give you very fast dungeon/skirmish queues and a decent chance to win in PvP.

But anything should work okay. Perhaps if you want a more DPS approach then Great Weapon Fighter and Control Wizard appears to be a decent combo.

Just in terms of what classes mesh together well and support each other.

Rogue and Great Weapon Fighter each with a cleric companion = unstoppable.
    D&D DM/Player since 1982 - all versions except the despised 4e

I had fun in BW3 and last night with my TR teamed up with a DC. I'd tear up the foes while the DC kept me going like an Energizer Bunny.

all the classes go together pretty well so it's really what you are after. If you want survivability then you probably want a devoted cleric or guardian fighter whereas if you want DPS you probably want a Tricksters Rogue or Control Wizard. If you want to take out a lot of minions/adds at once you may want a Great Weapons Fighter. Can't say I've played all classes and the only class right now I feel is slightly behind is the Guardian Fighter but that may mean they'll be the first class to get buffed so I wouldn't let that bother you.

CW/DC imo. Those two classes seem to be the most important in boss fights.
