Im level 41 and trying to plan ahead a little. Can anyone tell me if any of these spells are worth using? Tried to find some youtube footage of them but nothin.

Ice ray is useless, shard of avlanche is very good, malestrom of chaos is good AOE damage but I prefer ice knife single target and arcane singularity for AOE.

I'd like to caveat that Shard of The Endless Etc can be great... or terrible, depending. I find it CRAPPY for single targets and open-world stuff. It's slow to cast, tricky to aim, and often just hangs out behind my enemies like a loser.
When it works though, it's awesome knockback/down and damage. Plus it kind of looks awesome.
shard is great for certain tactical situations in pvp.
For example: Around a corner, cast it, it will take a long time to explode until you sling it somewhere, so you can wait for the enemy to come around the corner in a group and get initiative with a disabling shot.
It can also divide the battlefield or create a buffer during a retreat if you sling it then run. enemies will try to avoid it.
1 on 1 versus rogues seems to work well for me, eventually they figure it out, but... If I can knock them down with it (regardless if it exploding or not) they are dead (i.e. shard > entangling > 2 slotted rays > stealing time = dead ****ing rogue) >)
Rogues don't recover very fast from the knockdown effect of either the stone squishing them nor the explosion.
I have yet to see it crit though, think this is a bug.
