Are there other healer companions besides the generic cleric from level 16?

I saw the elf, but i read on forums she just gives you a life steal, not a heal, anyone tried her? Do you heal up just as well as the cleric? Maybe it would be better but not spending 20$ on a freaking companion without details.

she buffs only. I like her, most seem not to as they thought they were getting a healer..

Don't rely on the healer, learn to dodge and use potions. I've found just counting on her is bad, especially as you get up in levels. So many times in dungeons i see her out and know people aren't going to be watching their health, and it's a sign of trouble. Especially in epics.

A part of me hopes the upgrade books take a while to come in, so people learn to use other ones, but after running so many epics and seeing everyone else having her out, i worry people won't. :\

That cleric is the only thing that makes my GWF playable. If the Devs didn’t want her to be such a critical part of gameplay perhaps they should have made the class a bit more self sufficient rather than a noodle swinging potion refinery.

The idea that there are no other healing pets above 15 is a sad testament to the myopic and benighted vision of the staff. Clearly they had no idea she would be so important, had no idea another healing pet would be needed, had no idea what state the classes might be in without a dedicated healing source.

I am, more and more, finding the phrase “had no idea” the perfect summation of development here. But perhaps I am being too hasty, too critical. Maybe this is not, in fact, a dead-end mechanic designed to force you to spend money to advance. Perhaps they have full plans to engage a number of for-gold healing pets of higher levels so free characters can actually play. Certainly once they get done with their current bug-fix woes they will get right on this.

Let’s be optimistic and see if that happens.

    But don’t hold your breath.
