I'm not trying to start another "When are we getting ******" threads, im simply wondering what made the dev's decide to add the 2 new classes and Drow race after beta? Usually things like classes and races need lots of testing before they are officially implemented into a live game. In my opinion the cleric class needs help so what makes these new classes so good they dont need beta testing?
They're planning to add classes (and to a lesser extent, races), on an ongoing basis.
Of course, they may be planning on staying in "beta" forever too.
"Participation in PVP-related activities is so low on an hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly basis that we could in fact just completely take it out of STO and it would not impact the overall number of people [who] log in to the game and play in any significant way." -Gozer, Cryptic PvP Dev
This is a f2p game. It will always been in a state of beta. There are plenty of games like this that say open beta for years.
So in short. Cause it doesn't matter. The new classes will be free. No reason to worry about it in the long run since if they are broken, they can be fixed, and no one is out any money for them.

Guess you have not played any other mmo's....even when the game goes live there will be a beta testing server where people can help test out new content/classes/races/etc, it is that way in every mmo.

Have they confirmed that new classes will be free? I thought I had heard somewhere that they might be considered "premium" content.
Classes would be nice, but Dragonborn would be excellent. Does 4E still have Warforged?
Neverwinter is set in Forgotten Realms... so if I remember correctly Warfoges are from Eberron... might have spelled that wrong. Basically in this 'world setting' I don't think they exist in the same sense. Now I'd like to see some Genasi or Shadra-Kai playable races.
