We need more RP Tools

I am the leader of a small Rp-guild that want to play this game and enjoy it, doing foundry quest, roleplaying events and play the pvp and pve content of the game. But we have found that there are too few tools for a correct roleplay.

I will suggest only a few tipos to improve it and it will be a great help for me and other rp-guilds:

1. A command to /sit in a chair

2. A command to /eat, /drink /sleep (in the ground)

3. A command to roll dices /roll 100, etc.

4. Instruments to play, like a guitar.

I really hope that more players will join and add more ideas to this list to improve the rp in the game, thanks for reading!

The more the better! We can't forget that RPer's are the reason we even have MMOs today. +1

a good idea. not too sure about the instrument part, never seen it done before so i dont know how it will play out. but the simple commands are often the most used i find.

Lord of the Rings Online has probably one of the best instrument/music systems, hands down. Although I would love to see more RP elements in the game, it seems that the developers have leaned more towards catering to the majority of players, which happen to be 2 types... those that want to rush to the endgame and ignore all the great lore that the developers spent countless hours on, and the PVP types (which makes no sense... if everybody is forced to be a "good" character, why are we all fighting amongst ourselves? What happened to choosing your Alignment?)
As a former LOTRO player, I know there is a HUGE roleplaying community out there, and to borrow a quote from a movie "IF YOU BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME"
I believe that a RP server is in order, with STRICT rules to keep out the other 2 types of people mentioned above.

    1. A command to /sit in a chair

Jump on top of the chair, type in /sit (or something close to it).

That works, unless for some crazy reason there's no sit emote in NW (which there is in both CO/STO). Or do they have a very funky non-chair designed /sit emote (again, unlike CO/STO which was designed/expected that you were trying to sit in a chair of some sort).

Even simple mechanics like this add a lot of flavor and personality to the game, even if they are not used for roleplaying by most players; the fact that they still exist and are optional makes the game better.

Might be that I missed something, but is there a way to toggle run/walk yet in the game? I was looking through the controls and did not see one.

If not, that's something I'd like to see added as far as RP-friendly things go.

The basic /sit emote works, but is clearly meant for people to sit on the ground, not chairs.

You need to use console slash commands for this. Toggle walk with /walk 0 and /walk 1

Or you can /bind keyname ++walk

The latter will make that a toggle key; I personally use /bind z ++walk

    /emote sit
    /emote dance

Cryptic has made games with some of the most creative RP friendly emotes in the genre. Where are my wall lean emotes? The static "sit chair" emote that I can line up so I'm not sitting in a chair like a weirdo? :(

I'd also really, really like to be able to choose idle and walk animations independent of class. The Fighter/Wizard constant fist clench is really silly.

I say if you can set Npcs in foundry to certain animations we should be able to do it as well.

I find myself leaning (or should I say wall-leaning?) towards the RP side of things in this MMO, simply because the lore is fairly well-defined, unlike other MMOs. So yes, adding more RP tools, and possibly a server, seems like a grand idea to me. Heaven knows, I spent close to an hour just trying to pick a name for a blind dwarf rogue, I was expecting a little more RP in a DnD game.
