There is now optional imagination bridges in Limbo for Chapter 2, talk to the crystals and the red/orange tree. This was placed due to feedback that it made a girlfriend nerd rage and quit. (I tried the jumps myself, they aren't far, but not everyone's jumping skill is the same and lag can be a pain sometimes.)

Sorry about the deaths people who were unable to make the jumps. For those that can jump, you can skip the first and last imagination bridges if you wish. The middle one is too far even for Jordan and needs the bridge.

Its a shame that there aren't more tilesets to work with. Your "planescape" content doesn't really look the part.

Yeah I agree, I am trying to find tricks to do it better. I need to find a way to make the ground of Limbo better than that terrible red. My options were cover the grass below the red in fog, but one layer of fog didn't hide it, and multiple layers caused too much lag to allow the jumping "puzzle" to be played.

If i covered the limbo ground with nothing but rocks or something, then there's nothing limbo about it lol.

I did change the Abyss some, added some more flavor to it, but there's not a bottomless pit map lol.

Gray Wastes I think are fairly accurately portrayed, short of me adding millions of demon corpses.

I am kicking around a few ideas for the title for Chapter 3, and would like some ideas / feedback around this theme.

Ch.3 An Angel Strikes Back

Ch.3 The Wrath of an Angel

Ch.3 An Angel's Wrath

What are your thoughts, or perhaps another title you could think of if you had played the campaign, and understand now that Tiaga is going to strike back?

Updated prologue's final boss fight due to feedback from level 60 players saying it was too tough. This should be more doable now for higher level people. It will also make it easier for lower levels sadly but, its a balancing act.

Higher level peeps please continue to test these fights and let me know. I want the boss fights difficult, but not impossible.

Spoilers:

Prologue boss fights:
Undead Fielty
Undead Captain of the Guard

Chapter 1 Boss fights
Bone Fiend (optional Side quest)
Blood Skull Guardians (optional side quest)
Space Chickens?! (Optional hilarious side quest, total distraction from the story, comic relief)
Guardian of Mysteries

Chapter 2 Boss Fights
Avatar of Anguish

Chapter 3 Boss Fights
**** *******

Please let me know if these are too hard too easy, or just right. Space chickens wont change, its meant to be ridiculous.

Just wanted to say thank you everyone for making my quests "dailies" available, as well as enjoying the story so far. I also wanted to thank you for slowly grinding these quests up onto the "Best" of the foundry list. I am working hard on chapter 3, but moving this weekend so it will take some time to get published. In the meantime, enjoy the first three parts.

In one paragraph: A true D&D experience, with large planned out maps that reward curiosity, traditional story with nontraditional methods, and interesting characters. McChicken says to play this quest.

Mission Graph
The graph DOES NOT represent ratings(though are below) but a visual interpretation how what and how much you can expect to experience playing this quest.
PlanescapeChapter1_zps7f87ed2b.jpg

Overall Ratings
Overall 5 out of 5
Story 4
Combat 4
D&D lore 4
Puzzles 5
Exploration 5

Story
Continuing where the Prologue left off, the story starts to explain a bit more. There is still not a ton to the actual story, but there is more optional dialogue options that add some more flavor. Overall the story is not overbearing, and it is not just a description of how to get from point A to B. I am not familiar really with Planescape, played the RPG a while back, but don't remember details. However, it sounds, coming from a novice here, that the Author knows his stuff.
The story in itself is good. A little basic on the outset, with the end goal being your traditional quest to find a book, kill a baddie, etc, however the tie between Planescape and Forgotten Realms changes the dynamic quite a bit. So while the end might sound familiar, the journey takes a different route.
There are some side quests, that can be a bit hard to find if you don't look for them, but can help you later on if you keep your eye open for opportunities provided.

Combat
Combat was well done. It was a mix of tempos, going from easy to really hard and back to easy again. It was well paced out as well. It did not seem to just be there to be there, and you did not get jumped by overwhelming groups of enemies...to often.

D&D Lore
As stated above, this is a marriage of Forgotten Realms and Planescape. It is more heavily influenced on Planescape, as that is where you spend most of your time.

Original Lore
I can not separate the traditional D&D lore from the authors original lore. However, I can state that there was some side quests that added different story aspects to the quest as a whole.

Puzzles
The entire levels were puzzles, or could be. Between the optional quests (and finding them) and figuring out how to use the objects you got from them to help your quest, to the optional maze, this was not your straight forward run from A to B quest. You had to think, as well as cheat and use your map(ok so I cheated, not saying you should)

Exploration and Environment
That levels were well planned and executed. The cave uses all three dimensions, had some areas that were hard to spot if you were not paying attention, and was dangerous to boot, as if you did not watch your surroundings, you could get booted off a cliff. Further on, the quest even allowed you the choice of different paths, each with it's own flavor...and I even got lost a few times. The Author turned off quest markers for some of the objectives, turning it into a true D&D dungeon romp. The reason for the 5 really though, comes down to the extra time put into building up parts of the maps most players will never see, as they are designed for those that like to explore...and by doing so I encountered one of the funniest side events to date...and nearly got my HAMSTER handed to me.

Bugs
Personally I did not find any bugs.

Played the prologue last night (about 15hrs ago). Very much enjoyed it. Played with a lvl14 Cleric, solo, no companion & found the fights very challenging. Good story is the primary thing I am after and your's had it (my favourite computer games being Planescape Torment, Fallout 1&2 and the like). Enjoyed the Sigil Cant at the end, brought back memories (esp. as my cleric is a Tiefling)

Issues I found (Stupidly did not note the version, so you may have already fixed these)

- The descriptive italic text was in past tense most of the time. As "I" (my char) was witnessing the actions that were being described as they were happening, it would read better if these were in present tense. eg with Merchant Alrica Fenta it s/b "She shakes....", "She reaches..." (having said that, having the text describing the npc's actions/expressions, added to the conversation quite nicely)

Also with the merchant at the start - envelop s/b envelope.
The Beggar woman - i think "citizens" was spelt wrong.

The king - litch s/b lich

I am looking forward to playing the rest of the quests in this series.

Thank you so much Zovya, I have been with out internet for a a few days (feels like a week), so unable to update any of these. LoL As such, sorry for those of you who are dying due to a glitch in Limbo, and in the Gray Wastes, I am going to go fix those right now.

If anyone finds spelling, punctuation, or grammar issues in my story please post about them here, or PM me on the forums, worse case mail me in game. I am trying to correct these and any other issues to give you the best experience possible.

Updated chapter 2, the black out in Tiaga's home at night should be fixed. Apparently an item I had been testing to use to black out the windows or make them darker had been placed on that map again while I was with out internet. That particular item was never saved to the map so should never have been there, nor was it in any published version.

So this was just a cryptic bug, and should be fixed once the newest version (1.06) is published.

I loved this. In fact the first thing I was looking for when I searched Foundry were Planescape themed missions. Second is ilithid or beholder stuff.

Shame they put limitations and nerf Foundry things as I prefer it to normal story.

Thank you Vengola, I hope that you like further chapters. Chapter 3 is taking me a bit longer than the first three quests because I am having a bit of writers block. I know how I wish the plot to play out, it is the details that I need to figure out. I have the first map half way laid out, I have the second map mapped out. Just gonna take some time.

Also I am writing the dialog in word this time to spell check and hopefully get it proof read first. The primary complaint in my story so far is my terribad spelling lol.

Really looking forward to playing through your story, still on the prologue though, think I found a bug too. When I get the "Speak to the Noble Woman" quest, and then speak to her, the quest doesn't complete and I can't leave the house other than the "Go back to Last Map" button. I have tried this several times with the same result.

That is an odd bug. I will look if there is anything I can do about it in the foundry. Sounds like you may need to re-log, drop the quest and try again? I will edit this post if I found a solution on my end.

getsujiki, I am sorry I could not find anything in the foundry or my play tests that would give me an answer to this problem you are having. My best idea would be for you to drop the quest, re-log and try again.

Just wanted to drop by and say thank you for this campaign!
Played the Prologue yesterday & Chapter 1 today (hey keeping it slow^^) and really like it.

Small bug (visual):
In the castle in the Prologue there are some small flame artifacts floating around in the hallway.
Looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/0LNbKex.jpg
I dont know how to get the exact coords, but when playing the mission and looking at the map "m" it was at those locations:
(-38, -701) (100, -721) (80, -634) (158, -600) (-61, -660)

During Chapter 1:
I think this is what you mean with "Some creatures have unintended skins." (see known bugs), but justed wanted to mention it anyways. If it is - just ignore :)
Under the Leap of Faith group there is one group consisting of 2 Tieflings & 1 Balor. One of the Tieflings has the Balor abilities and the Balor those of a Tiefling.

Once again, thanks for the work you put in!

Hey there Zocat1!

Thank you for your feedback. I LOVE FEEDBACK! I am like Johnny 5 and need input here.

In the prologue, those floating candles are a nasty bug. It's a Cryptic bug from what I can tell with the elbow piece of the human interior tile set. I tried replacing them entirely, but short of replacing the elbows with two short hallways, I am not sure how to fix the bug. The problem with doing the two hallways though is i lose the ability to place those cool suits of armor and it loses some appeal? I am hoping that either A, someone points out something with that tile that I am missing, or B, cryptic fixes it lol.

For Chapter 1. The skins continuously get replaced and randomly. I have fixed them 12 times now, this is a cryptic bug that I am going to have to wait for Cryptic to fix because I would be in the foundry on these same chapters forever if I tried to fix that anymore. Once they have that bug squashed, I will go in again and fix them all. The problem with the Abyss though is that the map goes from -100 to +300 on the Y plane, this makes placing things painful haha.

Thank you for your encouraging words. I am working hard on Chapter 3 right now and hope to have it ready by Saturday.

People seem to be playing this out of order hehe. Chapter 1 has more plays than the prologue, with some reviews of people being confused about the story. All the quests have a big fat yellow sign on the front of them that tell you what part you are about to play. Just in case though it looks like this:

Campaign - "Planescape - The Skeleton Key"
part 1 - "Prologue"
part 2 - "Chapter 1: The Book of Souls"
part 3 - "Ch.2 The Trap For Karameikos"
part 4 - "Ch.3 An Angel's Wrath" (coming this weekend)
part 5 - "Ch.4 To be Announced"
Part 6 - "Ch.5 To be Announced, finale end of campaign"

The "quoted titles" are the titles of the quests, but you should find each quest underneath the campaign tree.

I hope that this helps any confusion, but if the big yellow sign didn't steer you right, then you probably aren't reading this either haha.

Updated all quests, changed their chapter numbers around to hopefully avoid more confusion.

Planescape - The Skeleton Key

Chapter 1: The Prime Material
Ch.2 The Book of Souls
Ch.3 The Trap for Karameikos
Ch.4 An Angel's Wrath
Ch.5 TBD
Ch.6 Finale TBD

Also yes, I know naming chapter 1 - Prologue will confuse people that understand what prologue means lol. However, the original chapter 1, the hunt for the book of souls, was getting more people playing it first than the prologue, and getting a lot of "i am so lost with the story" kind of reviews. Even though in yellow, it said in the first three words it was part 2.

Hoping this will fix that.
