Need for Crowd Control

I'm considering playing a Control Wizard and I have a couple of questions:

1) Is crowd control really needed in dungeons, or is it basically just a zerg fest?

2) I hear there are multiple mob adds on most boss encounters. How do you pick what to CC?

Thanks!

Since most boss fights are set up where waves of adds come out at certain points, if you don't CC or focus fire them down fast enough, prepare to die. Early dungeons are doable, but the tanks rarely get enough aoe aggro to gather them up, so they go after who is closest to them when they spawn. Gragmire (?) Crypts end boss is a good example, he starts out spawning minions, then they get up to pretty tough. Mad Dragon, prepare to complain constantly if you don't deal with the adds. CC makes things go faster, as you can ignore the one controlled until it's not.

Be aware of situation, and what your party is doing. CC one of the tougher ones, kill all minions, focus fire on what you can't control. Those tougher adds can really make things rough, especially if people aren't playing smart and are just trying to burn the boss down. Since they usually spawn more at a certain % of health, if you don't get the ones out down, you will have more to worry about.

I don't know I'd it's absolutely needed, but it's definitely a huge boon and readily noticed when you have a good CW in the party. You are a valuable party member, if that's your concern.

You cc the stuff killing the cleric, you are basically the clerics bodyguard. Priority CC on the most dangerous adds while killing the smaller ones.
