Stuck in the afterlife

I've been playing off and on for about a week now, mostly it's been super fun and cool and so forth. But in the last few days, I've been having some fairly severe connectivity issues. Rubberbanding, lag, classic symptoms. Annoying, but I can cope. What's mostly been getting my proverbial goat is that when I log back in from having lagged out and died, I can't respawn.

The "You Died!" screen is up, I can see people running around killing stuff near my body, but whenever I click the "release" button and say "yes I'm sure I want to", nothing happens. Ping is around 70 when this is going on, so it's not that - at least, not directly.

Help?

    Little update - I somehow managed to respawn via relogging a ninth time, but now there's a different issue. About five seconds after I get in-game, my ability to change any part of the world ends. My netgraph stops scrolling, I can't interact with anything or anyone - not even my inventory or professions. It's weird and more than a little vexing, especially since I can still see everyone else. Chat works fine, and the other people go about their business. Help?
