This might not work well for every1 but I wanted to share my interface settings, maybe it will help some1. You can just click Save UI button to save what u got now & click Load UI to get it back afterwards so no harm in trying.
im using a 1920x1080 monitor & find that full screen on 1440x900 with 16:9 work best for my performance
Interface Scale 0.87(ignore this if u want), hide self status & minimap, drag windows menu all the way to bottom using rearrange HUD option, team status top right for me, quest tracker to the left just under where the lines show from NPC randomly speaking
now to the real parts under Interface, HUD with the list of things u can put a dot on for ON & OFF, I have everything turned off except "show interaction icons" "show map transfer choices"
Enemies (Name=Mouse Over) Life=Target of Target (I do this coz then I can just look at another player or companion & the enemy life is shown coz I don't like life bars cluttering my screen)
Friendly Non Player Character (Name=Always show for contacts) Life= target of target, recently damaged
Party Members & Your Companions (Name=Never) Life= mouse over, target of target, recently damaged
Other Players (Name=Never) Life= Recently damaged
Enemy Players (Name=Never) Life= Always
Yourself= never for both, the life bar at the bottom is more than enuf
(Chat) ignore this even tho im posting it anyway
everything off except zone names, Font scale 1.07 (depends on interface scale as some combinations make crisper more readable chat at smaller fonts)
Active/inactive opacity=0, Time until Text fade=5 seconds, Text Fade Out Duration=0 (I can just press Alt or open a window if I want to read chat further up)
made this thread on a whim no idea why, I must be bored
Enemies (Name=Mouse Over) Life=Target of Target (I do this coz then I can just look at another player or companion & the enemy life is shown coz I don't like life bars cluttering my screen)
Friendly Non Player Character (Name=Always show for contacts) Life= target of target, recently damaged

Where did you change the life bar displays? I haven't found an option for it.
keep scrolling down on HUD options section under interface tab on options coz its after the list of things you can check/uncheck
