power is bad,weak?

so 25 power is 1 damage so 1lvl 5 power gem give 120 power or 5 damage only ,while crtic strike gem give 120 critic strike rate or 1.1%+critic chance so ,critic strike gems are a lot better or power do something more then just ad little damage?if power only do ad damage i dont see why would some one take 5 damage instead of 1.1% critic chance per lvl 5 gem

    Consistent dmg vs a percentage is more appealing to many people. On top of that a crit doesn't deal double damage unless you have taken feats or abilities that cause it to do more than it's base. I want to say the base is like 75% maybe even lower than that. Also that 5 dmg from power is I believe an increase to your base damage of which all your powers scale off of.

    It really depends on the rest of your gear. You might have a power deficit elsewhere in your armor from speccing heavily in crit already. Crit should have diminishing returns as you go higher up like defense and other % related stats. Power would not.

    100x105=10500

    (100x99)+(175x1) = 10075

    My math may very well be off. I'm just assuming a 0% crit chance; 100 attacks dealing 100 base damage (+5 for the +5 damage) and 175 for 1% crit at 175% damage. Of /course/ other variables come into play such as armor pen, existing crit chance, different abilities, etc; I'm too lazy to try to come up with a full formula tho.
