Game launch or Beta Launch ?

Hey guys,

Sorry for the probably stupid post but...
I have the 27/04 access (guardian pack) - but what is starting that date?? An open beta really? ie everything will be wiped when the game launches (when? ) or did i mis-understand that ?
Thought the packs gave access to early access to the GAME, not to an open beta (??)

    No more wipes. They call it Open Beta, but it's really launch.

    There will be NO wipes starting today. So when you play on the 27th, the characters you make WILL NOT be wiped. The game is "essentially" launched

    It is what is called a soft launch. It is a bit like a store opening up but not having the grand opening sales for a few weeks. The game is open and will stay open. The launch blitz is not quite scheduled yet.

    Basically a way they can claim to have a flawless launch when they actually "launch" at some point. Snarkyness aside, I'd much rather get in now than wait for some mythical launch.

    TBH i did not read much before launching the client today (i have to wait until 27 anyways) and there i saw a large countdown to.. "Open Beta" so that confused me :p

    This all sounds like the soft opening/grand opening argument from Ocean's Thirteen. "One day it was closed the next day it was open, I know, I was there." :D
