So we are only hours away from being able to play the game (well, some of us) and I'm beginning to think about what paragon path to choose for my GF while leveling, I didnt get far enough during the beta weekends to try any of them.
I'm thinking that I should maybe go for a dps spec while leveling and then respec into a tank spec at max level to run dungeons but I'm not really sure.
Anyone has any tips? What paragon path will you guys choose and why?
The conqueror is a good dps path and the tactician is also a good dps path with shorter cooldowns. Protector is the tank path but it can still do good damage.
I am considering mixing two or maybe all three paths in a build. Can get the +5 ac from protector, get the +damage using cleave from conqueror, get some feats from tactician like the reduction % on cooldowns for encounter powers.
conqueror and tactician are good but if u wish more damage for yourself then conqueror if u wish to have nice damage and buff up team then
tactician since u can buff up dps of team 5% , u can reduce damage of enemies

Errm these are feat paths at Paragon levels not paragon paths. game Paragon Path is currently Swordmaster and that it.

Really? I had no idea, thanks for clearing that up.

Yep dunno why people call the feats choices Paragon paths when theres a big button with Paragon Path written on it that opens up a window with choices in it that you pick between that gives you bonus powers based on what you pick.
Theres only one for each class to my knowledge ATM. There should end up being between 2 and 4 paths depending on how they split them up. Using the Player Hand Book examples:
There are some that will most likely become there own class though like the Warpriest for Cleric since they end up using two handers (based on how Classes already work).
Whereas for Fighters all 4 PHB1 Paragon paths go well with them.

Sounds like a very wise decision. I think i will try something like this aswell and respec full tank at lvlcap.

There have been two so far in various Beta Builds. Swordmaster and Iron Vanguard. Swordmaster was dps oriented (I found the paragon at-will ability to be extremely weak compared to cleave) and Iron Vanguard, the defense/threat (tank) side of GF paragon. It will be interesting to see what the third is. I imagine some sort of group buffing or self-healing style solo fighter...idk.
I will probably choose Iron Vanguard as I want to be the most solid tank I can be.

I swear I read something somewhere that said each class should have at least 3. I can't seem to find it now, and I don't believe it was an official post to begin with. I know firsthand that there are two for Guardian Fighter as there were two in beta weekend 1, when I went swordmaster and regretted it, though cap was 30 at the time I only had the at-will ability to go on. It may have changed since then, I didn't play as aggressively in any of the other beta weekends as I didn't want to burn myself out pre-launch.
Here is my post from that beta weekend and my review of "Weapon Master's Strike"
According to the wiki, Swordmaster is the paragon path of the Great Weapon Fighter and Iron Vanguard that of Guardian Fighter.
No choice here ^^ BUT you have three tree of feats for one paragon path.

As of Beta Weekend 1, Swordmaster was Guardian Fighter. I know; I played it.
I did not get to lvl 30 in BW4 but I could have sworn that my CW had three choices.
Control Wizard has only had Spellstorm Mage as its paragon path. We're not talking about feat trees. That is something available to all classes regardless of paragon path.. Paragon paths are a completely different thing that unlock at level 30.

I doubt we'll see any more paragon paths as we know them from the DnD4 4th edition.
Unless they completely overhaul the class system, they would have to add 3 additional "sub-paths" like the Protector/Conqueror/Tactictian for every class released.
Consider also that in PnP, not all Paragon Paths are class-specific. Some are race specific, others are skill training-specific, and some are role specific (leader, defender, ecc...), and there are even some who are powersource-specific (martial, primal, divine, ecc...). And considering the mechanics of the videogame, and the fact that every class has different powers, it would be very hard to implement Paragon Paths as conceived in the PnP.
The name "Paragon path" here just seems a way to add DnD flavor from level 30 on, which corresponds to the Pargon tier of level 30-60 (11-20 in PnP).
So, if you're a Guardian Fighter, you will likely stay an Iron Vanguard as well for a long time, that's my hunch...

Decubis: Dwarf Guardian Fighter: lvl 60
Demic: Human Devoted Cleric: lvl 60
Server: Beholder Guild: The Unnamed
I'm planning on take 21 to 26 points at Conqueror and the others at Tactician.
