Character Wipe When Game Launches?

Head start BETA is starting tomorrow for some, a bit later for others. They have stated there will be no character wipes after April 25. However, we are in BETA. This means pre-launch state. Will characters be wiped at the end of Open Beta when the game is officially launched?

Or is Open Beta the actual, deceptively named game launch and all things in game are permanent? If I spend Zen/Diamonds etc in beta, will they be refunded upon the games launch?

I am sure this has been answered but I have run out of time sifting through the boards and it is not obviously clear anywhere I have looked.

Normally, in the many open betas I have played you do your thing, have fun, continue TESTING since you are in beta. Go crazy with your coin and virtual money to test things. Then there is a wipe and the game launches officially. Those that jumped through the hoops or payed their cash get in early. But there is still a reset at the END of Open Beta. Is this the case or is the character and AD and Z I am dropping tomorrow count forever more?

From a lot of the conversations I have read through it seems there are many that think the game is launching tomorrow versus just beginning the last beta stage.

Thank you for your clarification.

    No.

"There WON'T be any wipes after the 25th."

This means that, any characters made DURING Open Beta will never suffer any form of wipe whatsoever.

This basically means Open Beta = Official Launch.

Thank you for the responses. It is very strange to say it is Open Beta, when this then is affectively the launch of the game. Just say the game is being released and be done with it.

Oh well, guess you youngsters do things differently now-a-days. Beta = Release, Up is Down, Dogs and Cats living together... MASS HYSTERIA!

    See you tomorrow in Neverwinter!

Its not strange. its pretty common to not wipe in open beta.

Open beta always means soft launch.. unless its a P2P game or a buggy game
