Open Beta Character Wipe????

Hi all,

I know this is a question for a mod but have anyone heard whether or not they plan to wipe our Open Beta characters or not. It seems to me that with the early access being a part of the Founders and Guardian packs they will not but what do I know. Maybe you do. Let me know!

    Cryptic has neither confirmed nor denied an Open or Closed Beta Wipe and likely won't for now.

    Best advice I can give you is hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

    Don't delete your character before the end, but don't plan on him/her sticking around. If they stay, /emote Happy_Dance.

    after closed there will be and after open wont at least thats how did worked every other pwe games beta

    Yea I forsee this happening but not confirmed. My first Beta weekend will be testing everything I can on all classes and races so there will be a bit of deleting on my part anyway.

    i assume that would make the Diamond currency things we get for the founder packs reset as well :-)

    In my opinion we're at the beginning of new trend, that players can keep their characters from open beta, less traffic at launch and open beta is nice way to polish your game too.

    Indeed, in the past two to three years or more, more and more MMOs have been allowing the END of Open Beta to carry over into Release. However, I am remaining with Ambi's thoughts on this, "Hope for the best, prepare for the worst," - considering we're definitely going to have something called "Early Access" for Founders. So, on that not, I personally am assuming that all Beta will be wiped, including Open Beta, allowing Founders to get in early to make their characters ahead of time.

    This is just my opinion on the way I see the Founder's Packs and this "Early Access" being mentioned. As stated however, there has been no official word on Beta Wipes either way, as of yet. Personally, I do not mind either way since character names are only unique per account. It is only your Cryptic @handle that is unique across all Cryptic Games.

    Sounds good zebular. I am just hoping if there is a wipe that Early Access is for Open AND Release not just Open!

    Bringing this type of outdated information to the surface is why necro'ing is against the rules! Haha.

    There was a Closed Beta Wipe.
    There will be no more wipes after April 25, 2013. (headstart)

    That's the updated information.
    Closed to prevent further confusion. :)
