A horrific day for Boston, America, and humanity. Hopefully, those responsible will be found and brought to justice.
If you are living in Boston, officials are recommending youstay home for time being. Besides two explosions at the Boston Marathon, a third explosion just occurred at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library.
Tip my hat to the EMTs, doctors, military, police and other first responders onsite, who did an amazing job helping all those injured.
My prayers go out to family & friends of injured and deceased.
Thanks for drawing my attention to this -- first I've heard of it. I have friends at the marathon, will try to get a hold of them now. (One was running the marathon.)
It's just heartbreaking when HAMSTER like this happens.
Bless those that step up to help at a time like this.

edited to add: Just got through to my friend. She had just finished the race & they were all on the other side of the street. Her group is okay, just very scared.
The responders were there so quickly...it was amazing.

Thanks for spreading awareness of it. I hadn't heard about it. My thoughts are also with those who have been affected.
It always amazes me how incredible the responders can be at times like these.
^Glad to hear your friend and her group are okay, kadlena.

My prayers go out to all the people of Boston this is a terrible tragedy. The officials also stated all cell phone service to the area is disabled to prevent any remote bombings so if you need to find friends or family in area use land lines. They also have call centers to help you find family and friends.

This is the information that I have been watching on the news since 3 p.m. (I live in New York)
1) There were two separate explosions, one at the finish line across the street from the bleachers and the other was a block (or so) down the street prior to the finish line.
2) The explosion at the JFK Library was an unfortunate coincidence and authorizes do not believe it is linked to the events at the marathon.
3) A potential third bomb (allegedly) was recovered and detonated by authorities. This was near the emergency care tent for the marathon.
4) Two confirmed fatalities (not named yet) and at least 99 injured.
In this age of technology there are going to be more images to this event. Also there is going to be footage from security cameras leading up to this. While this is horrific and life altering, you can see the bravery and selflessness of so many people who rushed to the aid of those who were hurt. I hope that the monsters who are responsible are caught swiftly and punished severely.
We stand against this kind of violence and will continue to live without fear, no matter what madness they try to visit on us.
To all my American mates. Please accept my condolences. I know all of Australia stand with you shoulder to shoulder against these cowardly, revolting attacks. Both our nations stand against tyranny and those faceless criminals who are envious of the freedoms we cherish. You are a brave and resilient people, you will catch these cowards and they will pay for this despicable crime.
