Unable to get sound

I am able to log in and the game plays perfectly, no other bugs except for the strange fact that I can't get sound through the game. Sound plays for the rest of my computer, my default device is correct but for some reason, still no sound in the game.

Any ideas?

only my Triton pro Head set will work, Real Tech speakers are not working with the Game.
I posted this elsewhere but adding it here also.

Same here. Was working fine earlier in week.

I have a set of Corsair Vengeance USB headphones. I have had these through out beta + Alpha and they have worked fine.
In the game there is no audio at all. In the audio options it shows "Unknown" as the output device. yet, in the options for Voice Chat it recognised the input as Corsair Vengeance USB and the output as Corsair Vengeance USB?

No other options in the drop down menu. This is the issue as there should at least be my sound controller from mobo listed.

Tests fine out of game. No problems in other games or applications. tried USB 3.0 and 2.0. Tried my old non USB headphones.. no sound.

From localprefs in Beta it is all recognised - not updating to game =
    PrefEntry SystemSpecs.audioDriverName DirectSound
PrefEntry SystemSpecs.audioDriverOutput "Speakers (Corsair Vengeance 1500)"
    PrefEntry SystemSpecs.audioDriverVersion 6.1.7600.16385
    PrefEntry SystemSpecs.audioX64CheckSkipped 0

Nobody wants to play a game with no sound.

I have tried changing local prefs.. no effect.

I have re-downloaded the latest audio drivers and video drivers.

I have tried non-USB audio on all jacks. No sound in game.

Rebooted PC, updated clients both Alpha and beta.

Tried front and rear audio jacks. 4 headphones sets and 2 speakers.

Each time it is still "Unknown" in audio output drop down menu only.

Have seen multiple people in game with the issue now.

Need a fix. It is maybe a corrupt config file that we can maybe delete or modify?

Some response or acknowledgement for all these people would be good. After all they cant play with out sound and not likely to spend further $$$.

I have the same issue. I am using Realtek HD audio drivers built into the motherboard. I have the most updated drivers. Sound is fine in every other game, every other program. Sound is fine on my laptop computer using Realtek audio. A pair of usb headphones I have will work for the game but they are tight and horrible to play with. I want standard sound out of my speakers. I want to play Neverwinter, but this is become a gamebreaker for me. I have filed two bug reports. Is there anything else I can do?

I GOT MINE TO WORK FINALLY!!!!!

I had the same issues as everyone else here, this is what I did

I uninstalled my Realtek drivers completely, rebooted my PC and let windows detect and install its own default drivers and the sound magically worked!!

Repeat I DID NOT REINSTALL any realtek drivers manually, the game still says my output device is "unknown" but oh well I dont care it works now.

Hopefully others will have success as well so give it a try
