So I'm really looking forward to the Foundry, and I've tried searching online for some FAQ or more info on what I'm about to ask but couldn't find anything.
I'm really interested in trying to make foundry missions that are sort of a play off of something else like say, the avengers movie or something similar. I would like to make a mission where you go in different zones and quests to find the other 'avengers' and then the final mission is defending a town or some huge boss fight etc.
Now what I'm really getting at I guess is copyright issues or whatever else there is to consider. I'm not looking to exactly copy everything exactly as it is from a movie or series, but to integrate the idea and ability by using the foundry and making it fit in with the Neverwinter D&D feel.
So for questions sake, using the same name like "Thor" would be allowed or no? Any kind of copyright infringement that we can be penalized for or have our work removed/banned because of something like this?
I still haven't caught anything regarding what I'm asking here. I know that it's probably a good idea to keep your content on par with the universe of Neverwinter and tying it into the storyline or something that isn't so farfetched, but I'm more interested in making things for fun, and for friends, not something that is necessarily related to the world of Neverwinter. Any1 have any insight?

The specifics on copyright liabilities and restrictictions for the Neverwinter Foundry have not been announced yet.
However I do have to point out part of your post which is poking me like an annoying tree branch:
Thor is the Norse God of Thunder and War. He has existed long before Marvel used the name, haha.
Of everything you could have possible feared copyright issues on Thor is pretty much free game.
Whether it bugged you or not, it was not meant to be an accurate example, tis why I'm asking what is debatable on terms of copyright or just plain isn't allowed from Perfect World's terms etc.
Here's probably a better handle on things that at least I can remember.
Back when I played STO, I wasn't allowed to name my ships after named ships from the official TV series of Star Trek, meaning it was protected by Perfect World or whoever, not allowing its usage. That's what I'm trying to get at is how will we know what we can and can't use before it's too late? I would love to start brainstorming some ideas and get things written down, but nothing is known and we're only 20 days away from Open Beta / basically release of foundry.

I just laughed that you used Thor as an example which really isn't owned by Marvel.
The information regarding rules on copyrights being used in the Neverwinter Foundry has not been released. The Thor comment was semi-off topic musing haha.
