My guardian fighter can no longer block. I mean he will block but its like I am normally getting hit for the same amount of damage. Sometimes more. Is this happening to anyone else? If it was nerfed can someone find it in patch notes so I can read them? I have come up with nothing

Same thing is happening to me. I talked to the GM in game and he said it is at the top of the list to be fixed.

Good to know, it still blocks conditions and knockbacks i think, so its just damage?

Its hard to say I am not going to play the guardian until its fixed. At level 2 I wasnt getting knocked. But I can tell you it does not block melee or missile damage

Got to level 10 and it blocks those conditions but your still getting damage. Going to hold on playing it until we know whats going on.
I *thought* I was having the same issue, but I was just seeing what I wanted to see. Block works fine, it just shows the damage numbers regardless of whether you block or not. If you look at your health while you're blocking, you AREN'T taking the damage, your shield meter is.

Yea it's a display issue only.
You aren't actually taking any damage. Block still blocks 100% of incoming damage, it just a display bug showing the damage numbers over your head that your absorbing - not taking.
Actaully block seems more effective then last weekend, as previously sometimes I'd still get knockedback - but not down while blocking.. Now it seems to give complete immunity to kd/kb.
Only thing that hurt me while blocking was rear attacks (obviously), and some traps which dealt DoT/Poison damage.

I still take full damage from the orc multi slash ablilty
If this is merely a display issue, then perhaps they should recolor the blocked damage numbers? Every time I block an attack, the damage shows up red. It makes it seem like the attack got through. Maybe if they chose a different color to represent that damage, then it would be more recognizable as damage I would have taken, had I not put my shield up.
Or is that an option now? I'll be honest and say that I haven't pored over the options window much yet.

It will display the ammount of damage the enemy does to you, but you will see a blue faint blur when you block a attack. Special skills that monsters do, the ones that show the area of which the attack will hit, cannot be fully blocked, and you will take some damage. I noticed this while fighting the orcs with there 270 degree frenzy like swings. the best way to mitigate special attacks is just to run away from the area of the attack, then go back in.

Depends.
Me find it usually works better to simply stun that son of a biscuit they usually has a delay before they attempt another frenzy.

frankieraye: I'll see if we can replace the woman with a stick figure and the tiger fangs with marshmallows./Issues like these need to get escalated quickly to minimize the damage.
Kantorek: Yeah.. you should try it. It's awesome.
Sihndra: Nope- not currently possible under any circumstances. Sorry.
LokisDottir: I mean...not haunting the forums, nope nope.
Konariraiden: You don't know what you are up against. You will lose.

Dont know if we are intended to play that way, block means block and it didnt work like that in the last Beta. All i know is that i'm taking huge spikes of damages while blocking and it seems like they reduced block effectivness or strenght of it. Some bosses in the near 20 break it with 2 moves so you end up being a potion class instead of a blocking class but still hit like HAMSTER.
Block works fine. As long as your not in aoe and everyone attacking you is in front of you, you usually dont actually take damage despite the numbers popping up on the screen.

You guys might be right, now its playing like it used to it seems. Probably forgot how weak it is under level 20 and i was 18 in a level 20 zone.

I've had similar situation, it will resist knockback and such but really doesn't block much (if any) damage. I guess I live in this weird world where it is normal that blocking an attack will stop it from hurting you, so its hard to adjust.

The block i believe was fixed but it won't work on attacks from above or below. What i'm concerned with this that there's a delay between a block and an attack. It's just enough to bug me and to get hit. My simple way to use a sword and shield it to make two quick strikes and then block. Now i can only get in one attack and block. Makes killing bosses harder than it needs to be. So it would be nice if the timing between blocking and attacking be almost non-existent.
