I am a longtime gamer (since Atari 2600 days) and have been playing MMOs since the City of Heroes beta and played a few betas and MMOs post-launch after that.. Auto Assault, Matrix Online, Champions Online betas; WoW, EQ2, Lineage 2, Dark Age of Camelot, GW & GW2 and tons of free ones.
I am currently 31 and living in the Kansas City area. I'm going to school to become a Physical Therapy Assistant and I work at a no-kill animal shelter. I also volunteer for an organization called Pets for Life, where we bring our animals to retirement homes and other places to use as a type of therapy.
With school and work taking up a lot of my time, not to mention trying to spend time with my girlfriend, who also has work and school (this is her last semester, then she'll receive her Master's in teaching)... this may be the last MMO that I get into; though Elder Scrolls Online does look interesting as well, but if this game is as good as I'm hoping, then I'll probably stick here.. I already bought the Guardian Pack anyway. If I like it and it keeps me interested, then I'll stick around for awhile.. if not, then I may be putting games on the back burner for awhile.
I'll probably be looking for a guild as well (the guild that I was in for Champions Online and Guild Wars 2 may not be playing this one). So, if you're recruiting experienced gamers for your guild (Experienced does not mean good.. just that I've been playing for a long time haha), then let me know.
I suggest if you havent, that you read the New User FAQ.
Also the Directory of Founders Guilds of Neverwinter helps for guild shopping.
I invite you to look at and if you like it join my guild, a link to which I keep in my signature.
One thing that appeals to me about Neverwinter is I can see myself playing more casually. Like you, I have less time to commit to an MMO and recently I have stayed away from them because they are such a time sink.
The way the Action combat looks from the Beta Videos I have watched coupled with the well placed quest progression makes me think I can play this a hour or two at night when the kid goes to bed and still have some fun. More fun than a Hobby, if that makes sense.
Good luck to you.

I miss the days where I could just come home and play Duke Nukem 3D, Age of Empires, Diablo, and Command & Conquer for hours on end, haha.

Stupid responsibilities.
Never played Duke Nukem and I was never good Age of Empires or Command and Conquer. I played the heck out of Diablo though. I just wish I had had the hellfire expansion. then there was NWN my favorite character was Red Dragon Disciple/Sorcerer mix, stomping on enemies breathing fire... it was great.

Welcome to the community! I think I'm pretty much in the same position. I just want to find a game that will keep me interested for a good long while especially with a busy RL. Neverwinter Nights was the longest game that hooked my interest, well next to Age of Conan (3 years in it).
