There have been hundreds of questions of pretty big importance asked and lots of feedback posted, yet I haven't seen a single developer make an effort to actually get feedback from players. This hardly feels like a beta test and more of an advertising. I just wish the devs would take the opportunity to get some ideas and criticism form their playerbase

Reading the feedback is one thing, having to reply to every little question requires more people and time to do so. This question is asked in every beta forum for every game beta out there, and the answer remains the same.. they respond to one or two questions and the players expect them to respond to every single little question they have. That brings about a worse situation than not replying at all and can turn forums into a huge mess. It would be nice if they had the staff to sit here and discuss things all day, but that also can cause issues where people interpret promises where the devs are not actually intending to implement or even consider. It's simply easier to not respond to criticisms and feedback for game developers.

Would you rather have them respond to a ton of comments, or work on the game? In beta you should post a comment, submit bug reports, try to break the game, and move along. It's not about Devs talking with the community. I know it seems odd, but this is a chance for them to get a ton of data, and root out a ton of minor bugs, (some not so minor), and they have very limited time.
I am not in this Beta, but this is just normal behavior as far as every other beta I've been in, and there have been far too many.
Now, if you want to complain about the lack of forum activity outside of Beta, then yeah, they need a community lead who is very active on these boards, to keep feeding us tidbits of info.
Lol this guy... how much are competing publishers paying you to come here and troll the NW forums on beta weekend? youd be less obvious in your mission if you wernt so devoutly moronic.
We're all quite busy working on the game, including nights and weekends, so it's been difficult to find time to do more than just read feedback on the forums. I'll try to pop in later this weekend and answer some questions if I get a chance.

Hey, good!! Now can you take the time to pop over to Champions Online and say something to the people there after fourteen months of silence? There's quite a few people that want a word with y'all. Any one of the actual developers, and not a community rep. (No offense, Turtle. )
I am not worried. I would like to see an update sometime next week after beta, some type of recap of how it went, what was learned etc. But even then no big, FTP gives devs the ability to be silent, because it won't cost us a dime to try when the time comes.
To be honest, I actually prefer them finally learning to keep their mouths shut. At this point, the only thing that'll burn them is going to be their claim of a cosmetic-only C-store, which is unlikely since it's most likely going to include C-store only classes. Considering how horrendous Cryptic is at balance, there's no way the C-store classes will be equal to free classes, thus making them not cosmetic.
Pretty much every promise made for STO didn't come to pass. Now, after angering their fan base too many times to count in that game, they've finally realized they need to keep their mouths shut. That way, people can't get angry.
Based on my experience with other beta tests, I've seen better than average communication-- both on the Beta board and in game. One GM spent hours interacting with players in-game chat last night.
Maybe that hasn't translated well to the public forums. But once the weekend is over... you'll probably be seeing alot more of what you are hoping for - as they process and review the info gathered during beta.

I'd actually say that Cryptic has been unusually active on these forums lately. You shoulda been here a couple months ago. I've seen way more dev interaction here than I have on any other game forums. With the exception of RaiderZ, but the only reason the devs ever pop in there is to lock a thread. And they lock lots of them.
LOL, try this back in Oct-Dec. At least they post on a regular basis and do some interview stuff. What they are doing now is a chorus compared to last year's PR work.

This necro was alright, but I've seen better. Try harder next time~
I was kinda wondering why someone would resurrect a post that hasn't been responded to in almost two months only to ask for it to be locked. Darn Necromancers!!!

Occam's Razor makes the cutting clean.

If a thread is older than 30 days it's already dead. The only reason I would need to lock it is if somebody decides to respond to it.
