Early access refers to retail launch, not beta access.

Earliest access would be February 8th.

It doesn't make sense to have only those who paid get access the Feb 8th Weekend Test and then give them 5 days head start, does it? ;)

As stated the Head Start is for the Live Game. There's no set plans for when the game will go live. The live release of the game will greatly depend on the Beta Feedback so stay tuned for any information beyond the CBT Weekend Dates.

I doubt any of you would mind!
Heck that sounds like fun for everybody...other than the dev's who are currently running around like madmen doing the finishing touches for next weekend's test...

But alas I think we should separate dreams from...well...other dreams.

Glad I could help though mrvuk!

I am looking for some clarification on this. The founders pack says "Five-day head start access to Neverwinter Open Beta". Is that a typo or is the 5 day head start for both the open beta and when the game goes live?

Most of the time, Open Beta for a F2P is kind of a launch. Hardly ever do wipes come after an OB, pending something catastrophic. So it makes sense to give early access here instead of official launch as people would already be playing at "Launch" anyways from OB, more than likely.

It's a typo. Melanderi confirmed the Head start here:

    Just to clear things up:

The Early Access is in regards to launch.

Hero of the North purchasers will be able to log in to the Live game Five days early.

Guardian of Neverwinter purchasers will be able to log in to the Live game Three days early.

Wipes always happen after open betas. You're thinking of early access/head start programs.

That's cool. Perhaps someone should fix the typo as it is false advertizing right now. :)

    Two questions.

I have seen it said that many of the items gained in the different founders packs stack, but I have not found it said that the extra character slots and respec tokens stack. If you buy both Hero and Guardian, do they get 4 character slots and 2 respec tokens?

Also, for the beta weekends, is it "planned" that the servers will be up 24 hours a day for the beta weekends or are they planned to only be up for certain time windows on those days?

"Always" is way to strong a word and makes your statement incorrect, "mostly" would be better.

If I am going to spend money I like to have the facts not guesses. I like to be an informed consumer :) If Cryptic said "more than likely but subject to change" that would be cool, but "most games it happens this way" is not from Cryptic and just a guess arrived at though what things OTHER companies have done in the past. In all honesty this game is doing a number of things much differently than OTHER companies have done in the past and I don't think it is to much to ask for given there is no returns :)

I agree the Most of the time OB is launch most of the time with F2P games but that does not seem to be the case here taking the answers to the other question I had into account.
