Hey All,

I was just wondering if there are other community forums set up for Neverwinter or if someone is currently working on setting it up. As much as I love to use the perfectworld neverwinter forums :) I just want to see if there is anything else out there that may increase the promotion of what is looking to be one of the best D&D games ever b:dirty

Thanks!!

For selune's sake its only now that the forums have started to be alive. Creating any other community forums before this would have been like division by zero - a creation of a place where no one visits.
However, there are some private forums (guild forums etc.) and public forums (mmorpg.com and others) dedicated to game. But they are mostly barren I tell you - worse than the population here.

And population here was 104 as shown in votes for mods.

EDIT: excluding bogus votes that is.

Hahaha Didn't realize I'd have to wear plate to this conversation :O haha

I mean these forums are fine just thought someone would make some crazy creative forum based on the game. I personally find that outside forums normally are better then the internal forums :)

    Just my 2 cents.

lol, I was just kidding. I do understand having an outside forums can be better in some ways (usage of frank language and all) but there isn't that much activity as of now. It will increase though and probably by launch or at beta there would be some forums, but I don't expect that is possible before open beta.

hahaha I know you were kidding :P and it never hurts to start working on something early :) so when beta / launch drops everything is already sorted and ready to go :D

I might be willing to make a forum space on my site for the regulars here. If that is something people want at a later date.

After the game is launched I'd expect a lot of fan communities to grow. Perhaps IGN will add it to the NWVault, it's almost assured to get a fan wiki page and guilds will certainly form their own communities.

But for right now I think there's just so little to work with we won't be seeing anything until the game at least enters closed beta.
Indeed it is great to start on things early, but in my experience most people who run successful fansites hold off until at least they play them game. I have seen many people in the past create fansites for games they expect to be 'omg-best-thing-ever' and end up disliking the game when it is released.

The thing to remember is that as a fan, if you are going to put the time and effort into creating such a fansite it's best to know your interest will be held for some time. We all hope and expect the best for NW but acquired wisdom dictates to not disregard the possibility of it not appealing to each person looking forward to the game.

And hopefully you can all read past the blunt comments to realize this isn't nay-saying but a fact of life. There are great games in the world which don't appeal to me in the slightest but that doesn't mean they are bad games. No matter how great of a game Neverwinter becomes there will always be a chance some it won't appeal to some of the most enthusiastic fans.
I am merely explaining the biggest reason we don't see a big name NW Fansite *yet.*

First off I really love the answers everyone posts they are all well thought out instead of the typical "Your a noob we don't need it" answers I usually see on other forums :D.

Secondly I do agree about waiting until the closed betas to really see what this game is all about (can you tell I am really excited since I want to get a move on with making an amazing community for this game haha).

Thirdly Eww IGN forums :P hahah <3

One of the befits of having your own campaign page is you can do forums and i have been considering it. I certainly have the URL and the webspace to do it.

I'll answer that if you can tell me the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow. ;-)
However a mind is a horrible thing to waste. Strive to be optimistic but not unrealistic.

And yeah I figure a lot of the content devs will likely host forums for feedback and such off-site. I'm hoping the PWE Team will give a ton of support so that a large amount will use those developer blogs and news streams Cryptic displayed with the Foundry Videos but I expect a lot will still prefer to host and manage their own.

Plus I wouldn't doubt we might get some developer specific fan-forums. Consolidation is nice but sometimes it's best just to have like minded people with like minded people.

After the game is launched I'd expect a lot of fan communities to grow. Perhaps IGN will add it to the NWVault,
    The Vault is broken.
    http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/191/index/13924354

Rolo Kipp has mod powers on the Vault, and even he says it's broken.
    http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/191/index/14280815/1

And has been for 8 months.
    http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/172/index/9196246/1

So that's not going to happen unless they do a brand new, NWO specific Vault.

No content recently submitted to the Vault has been published. Instead, look to the Neverwinter Nexus. http://neverwinter.nexusmods.com/index.php

I think you're referencing the Bioware Vaults while I was referencing the IGN NWVault.

I know I was trying to fix my uncle's computer to be able to run NWN1 on Vista a few weeks ago and to get the critical rebuild to work was an absolute disaster considering Bioware took down basically any support for NWN and consolidated it with a massive jumble of other "Legacy Games." I didn't realize Bioware had dropped the forum archives as well though.

It's truly sad to see that the once prized jewel of Bioware's R?sum? has been completely abandoned.

You should read those threads. The IGN Vault is busted.

The OF are good but I also like being able to chat with only limited moderation as well. I'll ask the admin of SV if he'll add a seperate Neverwinter forum to http://www.silkyvenom.com/forums/index.php

edit:It looks like the admin will add a Neverwinter forum though it may take a day or two.

The admins at SilkyVenom.com just added a Neverwinter forum for those who want to post outside of the official forums.
