The Gray Knights (Neutral Guild)

Hi all - I would like to find like-minded players to resurrect the original "Gray Knights" Guild from the 1990's original NWN game on AOL. I was guildmaster at the time, and would be interested in reforming the guild. Basically if you are into balance, and are of neutral alignment (any neutral), then you are welcome to join. More info to follow...
This Guild will only be open to mature (25+) players...

This sounds really intriguing, could you please explain further? The part about balance is what I'm the most intrigued by. Please tell me exactly how that'll be implemented if you would

    Psycho,

I would be interested in joining when the time comes. I have been doing the MMORPG for several years now, and like to enjoy a relaxed and fun group. I may have a buddy that could be interested as well.

Any problems with Neutral-Evil (not Chaotic-Stupid) characters?

I (and know others) welcome any and all guilds that enrich the community, especially an AOL NWN one!

However, due to the alignment changes of 4E, there are only the following alignments:
    • Good
    • Lawful Good
    • Evil
    • Chaotic Evil
    • Unaligned
The "alignment requirements" could have to be rethought and re-described.

    As I said here...

I'm more talking about alignment in the purist sense - the kind of character I am talking about would likely select neutral or evil for alignment in 4e.

I am intimately familiar with 4e and I DM tabletop and online... And have for years. In fact I've DMed every edition since 1981 ;)

Evil isn't stupid. Evil also doesn't mean "doing bad things for no good reason". An intelligent evil character isn't easily discernible from a true-neutral one in most circumstances. Evil characters will normally follow established rules, laws and traditions, though they'll look for ways to manipulate those to their benefit. If they have a particular agenda they strongly feel they need to advance they will take measures that others would shrink at... Assuming they believe they can get away with that action.

There is no reason a predominantly neutral party cannot work well with such a character... As long as they don't cross him or her.

Truthseeker was pointing out that there is no neutral class. In fact the whole system of alignment in 4e has been changed. Good people can take 'evil' actions and nothing stops them from doing so.

True, true. I was just preempting the usual commentary, I guess :D

Apologies if I muddied the waters...

All of the above is true. As long as we're informed about it, it's cool, no offense no harm, etc.

    Sounds good!

Had much interest in the guild yet? The Directory doesn't have much detail :D

(Oh and... I'm not evil. I just have a particular character concept I want to explore with a single toon b:laugh)

Well this is one of the two guilds I'm considering joining... Once that's possible.

In the meantime it could be interesting to get together and thrash out the possibilities, play some MMO together and see how it's going to shake out.

RaiderZ goes public in about 10 days and there's DDO. Anyone interested?

I would like to know more about his guild since I used to play he original Neverwinter Nights and most of the time, stayed as neutral as possible, this seems like the right fit for me but I am keeping my options open until beta.

This actually seems like a good guild to join, but are you seriously not accepting players that are below 25?

You could still maintain your neutral status if you really want to attract D&D players as opposed to other MMO players. People familiar with D&D will understand what "neutral" means. You can just explain it to others who aren't familiar.

In my view, the less 4E the better. I would support a healthy rebellion against 4E ways.

I support D&D Next ways which supports the best of all editions and doesn't stigmatize players.
