Add Deity Bonuses!

Currently Deities add nothing but a Title to our characters. Invoking rewards and blessings are all the same regardless of your Deity.

I think a unique benefit should be added to each Deity. Here is my example list of what each of the 25 Deities would provide:

Of course all these bonuses can change in values, or have new ones entirely. I'm no deity expert so you may even want to match different deities with different bonuses.

Let us know what you think. Give your feedback and show if you are interested in this being added to the game!

    Sounds interesting.

Much like collection points, deities never really added anything game-mechanic-wise.
Despite us getting more of them with time it is still only flavor aspect of the game.

Some 'not-so-out-there' yet useful bonuses like those might help to spice things up.

One could even implement it during some even... lets say: maybe during The Challenge of the Gods with some additional reward letting one choose a 'favor of different God" being given so that we get one change with no cost due to change of mechanics.

Who knows? The idea is interesting though.

Nah it's way too much! 5% ? and once chosen it's locked, why would a diety give you more or as much as your actual race? and capping stats is easy enough as it is, adding dieties with 5% more stats would only make capping way easier, where's the fun in that? Plus people would just pick the bets ones and the rest would be dead weight.
if the bonus was 1% max then maybe it should be considered but i also believe dieties should grant any stat bonuses, maybe a few passive one at most! like stamina, regeneration, etc etc

If the reward is anything material such as enhancing performance, get more AD, etc., it means everyone will just switch to those few deities. That basically destroys deity or eliminates certain deities.

Regardless if it's 5% or a bit lower, the thing is, when there are multiple "best" ones, people will be stuck with hard choices. For example if I'm out questing a lot, I might be tempted to get the +15% mount speed, or if I want to get higher chance at the best artisans, or if I want to farm rough AD, or do the latest content and have min maxed stats, or extra survivability. All these choices make you tempted to change, which creates an AD sink. A place to spend AD to switch these bonuses. This would benefit the game, by allowing people to switch, when optimizing builds. Another example again, I'm min-maxing, I get this new gear, but I need to move stats, so I could change my deity. For most it's costly, but for optimizers it would be worth it.

It's one more missed opportunity by the Devs. There's loads of things they could do to make the game better. I like this suggestion.

I think this is a great idea

Perhaps the benefit should reduce the more times you change... reflecting the gods' frustration with the fickle nature of your faith.

    Hello @aragon#8379,

Thanks for this awesome suggestion! Unfortunately, there will be no changes regarding this feature in the short term because the System designers will first focus on the boons and the classes that would need more attention, but the devs saw your table and may do something in a future quality of life update.

    Thanks again and have fun!

NO. Deity is nice for if you are familiar with them for Role-Playing, but I do not want to be forced to choose just so I can get the right bonus for my characters.

What bonuses should I get for being a deity?

I am totally against this. This has been a flavor system since the game's release and it should remain as such. Though, I am not surprised. It was only a matter of time until a meta sheep would ask for moar stats, ruining the system for every role player. As if it weren't already easy enough to hit the stat caps.
If this gets introduced, everyone will choose the same deity. Every DD will follow the same Deity, every Healer will follow the same deity, and every Tank will follow the same deity. And what happens, when you switch loadouts? Having to spend 60k AD every time?
The deity system is good as is. Almost everything the game does, is about providing and redistributing stats. We really don't need another source of stats. Especially, when its taking one of the few flavor systems away.

I for one am happy, being able to create a character and pick a deity for them, that fits the vision of that character, without having to worry about missing out on some BIS stats for that character's role.

@percemer You and the devs should consider this, before you add this "awesome suggestion".

If such feature as how it is proposed get implemented in game.

The very first thing players would ask feature/ability to swap their current deities. ( I can assure that by 100%).
Roughly 6 deities will get picked. Rest will be ignored. And if anyone think otherwise.. Go one, point me reason why players would pick deity like lliira for gold gain. Bahamut for CC resist? Or via deity increase glory gain increase..

Players will focus on main things.. Tanks for defensive stat boosting deity,, dps will go for like crit and crit severity. Healer for outgoing healing. Thats. it.

Now question, aren't there enough of stat boost in game as it is now??

The game more and more moving from action combat to stat benchmarking based gameplay.
Also, players even now, with max IL, capping their stats. So what the point add even more stats??

The deity you worship changes with your loadout? If you are working on a gold-gain loadout, Lliira would be chosen.

Maybe it wouldn't help players with maxxed stats but there are still plenty of us that aren't. But more that just the stats you could pick a Deity that helps where you need it, gives you extra strength, more forte etc? I think its got potential, 0f course concentration on the boosts or buff a companion/mount/gear etc is suppose to give would be the first thing that ought to happen. And fixing what makes your hands burning and your tune freezing.

Great idea, and like I commented on your video, some bonuses could also apply to character origin/background.

I'm in team "Build your custom team experience" instead of "Follow the meta".

What happens is that the suggestion will add more elements of Meta. People will google and just pick that 5% power as priority, or 5% defense as a tank. Meta is fun to explore but it is a double edge sword. World of Warcraft for example is completely killed by a Meta. Over the years, elite guilds formed and they down the hardest dungeons, writing guides and publishing all the best in slots and shortcuts to get them. As a result, people no longer do chicken emote and quest together to explore their group's unique experience. Everyone checks video, checks for the best build and grind. It destroys the game and community in the long run. Right now the same virus is starting to show in neverwinter. Everybody almost use the same weapon and companion in dungeon runs. Nobody ever willing to try anything unique, such as using 5 spiders to trap all the enemy, or trying out other combos.

What I'll suggest is to create a fun mix table for deity. For example if all 5 players are using bahamut, then the entire team gets +3% HP. If 3 players are using savras and 2 players using bahamut, then they all get +3% crit. In this way, if your group of friends lacked Crit, then your team can decide to pray to Gods AAABB to get that 3%. In random groups the buff will be a surprise, and as groups progressed they can switch deity to get more defense, or attack, depending on their current journey.
