I was reading some other forum threads, which mentioned about companion prices skyrocketing since the mount changes and premium loot system change:

I am a casual neverwinter player, but I did notice now that the bulette pup on the auction house was up from ~400k to ~1.5M. I do not really understand - what caused the change in value? is it that the bulette pup used to be a rare drop in dungeon end chests, and no longer drops?



hmmm.. I just checked - I think it might be because they removed the bulette pup from the tarmalune trade store? is that it?
darn, I was always planning to buy it from there. does the tarmalune trade store inventory always change based on the current lockbox rewards?

    Price of many things were inflated with no good concrete reasons. I have been tracking a few piece of equipment and try to get the lowest deal. When I started tracking, they were around 50K each. They went up and down and I got few of them around 35K to 40K. Then, suddenly, in one day, within hours, someone took them all and it went to 250K. One of them jumped from the lowest I have recorded in my piece of paper, 30K, to my next check point within hours, 200K. Some came down to 80K and some stay in 200K area.

    I don't know what the exact reason is. There may be a few factors. I consider one of them is there are more AD generated. Some actors gamble on that. Redeemed Citadel generates easy AD (refined). Nightmare event also generates easy rough AD for casual players.

    Pets are dropping less in dungeons and trials now and we see more pres wards, trade bars, and life scrolls.

    With the bulette pup so expensive the Quasit in the zen store is much more appealing tho isn't it? it's the Bulette's alternative for end game at the moment. I have Bulette on many toons, those who don't will use Quasit now that I have it from the zen store account wide.

    I hope to see more useful pets added to the zen store. It sucks that you have to wait to convert AD to ZEN or pay money but account wide stuff is fantastic imo.

    I think the likely reason is

    1) someone or group manipulating the market by buying up the lower priced ones. I've seen this kind of pricing with some of the popular artifacts and artifact set pieces because I have a few toons to outfit and I usually spread my buying over weeks, if not months

    2) recent loot table changes made it a rarer drop

    Was the bullette pup ever in the TB store? Damn, I never noticed. I would have bought it for all my dps toons since I got so much TBs
