Unable to refine mount collar

Trying to refine an epic collar (Sturdy Barbed Collar III). Correct amounts of all necessary reagents are present and the RP bar is full. However, the lower half of the window is faded and the ward slot is locked. Also, the RP symbol to the right of the RP bar is greyed out (not green as it normally is when it is OK to refine), suggesting that there are insufficient RP available - even though I have many more RP than are needed. Character is a level 80 Rogue Assassin, and the collar is on a mythic Tenser's Disk, (although it doesn't seem to be mount related as the same problem occurs when trying to refine in inventory).

    there is an extra click before placing the ward or it will still be greyed out ...just click you will be fine ..

    Thanks for the suggestion, but click on what ? I have clicked on every part of the window (except the Refine button)

    I have the same issue. And I will NOT click that Refine button until I have a ward in place.

    ok i took the chance and then it prompts for the ward and works fine ..
    are we forgetting the game already prompts/ warns you if you try and refine without a ward anyways
    yes its a bug //but it still works and let you put in a ward..how do you think other people upgraded thiers and placed them in the auction house
    if it were not working dont you think there would be tons of posts about it

    Refine means you are putting RP into the item, Upgrade means you are attempting to upgrade the item's quality.

    Just don't do what I did and press refine, then forget the pres ward. I lost all reagents. I tried to put in the pres ward before refining but couldn't, then forgot and hit upgrade losing everything.

    It is as you folks said (and showed)- a new prompt appears when you click Refine. Enough of you for me to take the chance myself. Thanks!

    How did this get past QA???
