Mako's Signet.

Hello everyone.

I was wondering for us, that had discarded the ring a long time ago, if there's a way to obtain the ring again, or if Cryptic has plans to implement it as a buyout item from the Storm King Thunder's campaign.

    As far as I know, no. For me, it was the most useful item for most of my characters doing that campaign.

    In the near future, not far from the past, the developers plan to have you combine Makos Signet Ring, Neverember's Promissory Note, and 100 Abyssal Chickens to form the Legendary Sword of Intelligence. This sword will make horrible noises, like nails across a chalkboard, as you swing it randomly at various campsites. As it will have an intelligence of 999, it will do affirmations to assure you how special you are and lucky to have a blade, that accomplished all those tasks for you, and made you what you are today. It will remind you that while you are nothing but a zero, there is nowhere to go but up from here. It will spout great lines from the hilt such as;

    Everytime I try to see things your way, I get a headache.
    If you play by the rules, you will get beat by those who don't.
    There is nothing standing between you and your goals, but your complete failure.
    Just because I accept you as you are, doesn't mean I have abandoned all hope for you to improve someday.
    Never stop trying to succeed... I need the entertainment.

    Now who wouldn't want a sword like that?

    It can be discarded?! I guess I should make a trip to mount Hotenow to finally get rid of that evil for good.

    You are right. It cannot be sold and cannot be discarded.

    It can be discarded. Sadly, it can't be converted into RP nor given to your guild's coffer (or, as stated, sold).

    Interesting. It appears there are 2 versions of Mako's signet.
    The early version was "cannot sell, cannot discard". Yes, I tired to discard that in Preview. I cannot.
    Then, there is a version that is "cannot sell". My last 2 toons that got that have this version.
    I take that as somebody complained "why 'this junk' could not be discarded and occupying my inventory?" and Cryptic somehow "fixed" that.

    Back in the days we suspected the ring to be "portable Makos" (his phylactery), and as such it was reasonable not to let the players to discard a major character somewhere along the road on your trip through the Sword Coast.

    It is weird though that there are two versions now. Probably a bug.
