Armor transmutes broken

dheffernandheffernan Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 216 Arc User
Seems the new m16 "multiclass" armors won't accept transmutes except from each other.

This, in a word, stinks.

I put a lot of effort into my characters' appearances. If I have to ditch them to use level-appropriate gear I'm going to be very unhappy.
@Venture-1 @Venture from City of Heroes if you remember that far back. Yes, *that* Venture. Yes, I probably trashed your MA arc. For me it was Tuesday.

@dheffernan when you say M16 multiclass armor, are you talking about the stuff we can get for Mountain Seals? If so, that is depressing. My characters also "have a look" I engineered from armors under level 10 for the most part. Every time I spend 5K AD on a transmute of armor, arms, boots and gloves just to keep my look. I have previewed the new armor and I don't care for this look at all. I also design my fashions, by mixing costume pieces and dyes.

This is one reason I LOVE the tailor shop in Champions any day over the drab designs coming out of Neverwinter. I might have to stick with my Barovian armor or upgrade and run 100% fashion. :frown:

We are the Zorgs, resistance is just impossible!

The Mountain seal armor and several others that allow more than one class to wear them (although how Clerics ended up with the same armor as Rogues and Rangers.....). They all appear to only take transmutes from similar pieces.

Anything that you can wear ,you should be able to use as a transmute. However make sure you do not have that item marked as protected as I did on mistake and forgot to remove that protection. Because if it is marked then it want allow it. Knew a few others that made that mistake as well. I mostly mark the items I plan to use as a transmute for later use but accidents happen. Hopefully this is not the issue you have run into but if so, I want tell .hehe.

Not that this helps much, but you can also use armor that has no class, like hunt armor for transmuting multi-class armor. I do agree that the limited choice stinks, I wanted to use my Dark Armor of Lloth as a transmute, but nope.

I tried transmuting an armor on my Barb. It wouldn't let me until the multi-class armor had been bound to the character.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

I forget the name of the mmo I was playing a long while back, but they had the "fashion item" transmute over top the armor. I think it stinks, we put so much AD into making something with limited resources, an armor design that we like and care to keep. They offer us something a tiny bit better in numbers but the design looks like a freak show. Sorry if I am offending some 3D artist over at Cryptic, but I could do better designs myself.

I purchase dye, costume parts, pull enchants and transmute cost all because I have "fashion sense". Then they put out weapons and gear I cannot transmute to my design. More generic characters for their generic game. :-1:

i was able to change armor skin with 5 K AD but after a patch idk which one second or third probably for chest and arm (for me) so all now i cant change only some old and usually their own items so undermountain drops avaible to change (and 8k)... Among many other things that must be handle it too...im still keeping my ebonized chest armor to change skin (upgraded black ice - mine is corrupted) that is ''Quite annoying'' !

I have compared upgrading Ravenloft Seal of the Crown armor to that of Seal of the Deep.

I will stick with the 770 IL from Barovia until the developers can figure out where they are going. I don't see any need to upgrade for a tiny percentile and take 2 big cuts to my armor and then lose my fashioned armor as well. Who knows? Maybe they plan to drop armor transmutes soon and hope we won't be totally irate about it? My husband (who seldom plays this game) just said to me, "For that matter they should just make us all look like Lego or Minecraft characters and save GPU power of rendering all those 3D faces." I better not give them more ideas to pin on me.
