Sea of Moving Ice Fishing Bugged

When fishing on the kayak, I select a bait by pressing tab, cast the rod with the left mouse button, and begin to reel it in by pressing the right mousing button. I then proceed to reel the fish in by pressing Q,E,and R keys, but the reel progress bar does not move. It simply goes on until the fish is lost. I have restarted, relogged, etc but nothing is fixing the issue.

    Same problem...thought I was back to beginning fishing days. I was happy to hear about the bug. Looking forward to the fix & getting back to supporting the Elk Tribe (need to fish to move forward in campaign). Thx!

    Moreover, the boat's speed is considerably reduced in SOMI

    Similarly fishing in chult is broken in the same manner.

    Me also - can't reel anything in, can't drop the quest. Added bonus for me, I can't report the bug in game or see ANY bugs in the in game list or report any....

    Update:

    I found that I am able to successfully fish in Chult now. However, in the Sea of Moving Ice, instead of not moving at all, the fishing progress bar moves about a quarter of an inch and then resets over and over. So, it is still broken, but the symptoms are now slightly different.

    This should be fixed in an upcoming patch. It is currently on preview.

    I'm sorry to resurrect an old post but I have a new account and can't create new threads. I'm having this problem now on the PS4, no matter how quickly I react to the arrows lighting up to reel in the fish I either get told it's still recharging or the bar doesn't fill up. I haven't been able to catch a single fish yet and need the quest to progress. I'm assuming this issue is still ongoing on PS4?
