maybe the answer is to go back to the old queues instead of this joke of rng queueing that way players can prepare for the dungeons they are doing with a return of ritz ad dungeon quests and specific dungeon quests from the stronghold cleric but i guess everyone seems happy with getting thrown into random dungeons/skirmishs. just as a pointer before complaining about the players think about the problem that got them there in the first place don't get me wrong they did queue up for the random bs but i can only assume they were hoping for a dungeon and ended up stuck at a skirmish.
The old queue where most of the players ran eToS for dungeon and eSoT for skirmish, and the few players who wanted to run something else waited hours in the queue?
The old queue where players with 20, 30, or more toon stitched together trash alts and sent them into eToS/eSoT to get carried for 36K RAD per toon per day? And where some of these accounts made 100s of K, or even millions, of RAD/day while normal players player with one or two toons made 36-72K/day?
Thankfully, we will never see those days again.
I suspect most of the AFKers are players running accounts with many toons, or even many accounts. They get sick of doing things on their 10th toon/account of the day. They AFK because they know they can get away with it. If they do get kicked, they don't care. They just re-queue. Does not take much effort to AFK.
Using trash alts and multiple accounts today is only possible because they can be easily carried through much of the content. Mod 16 with level scaling and slower pace should finally kill the trash alts and multiple accounts.

I have to agree with your comment. I feel the same way. Higher level toons will not do random queues for a dungeon that takes more than 10 minutes or more due to scaling and no good rewards.
I posted the same thoughts in the rewards section of preview comments. Asterdahl replied that will be monitoring the queue to see if there are major declines in randoms being run.
He also stated that the intention is that they would like to see high level toons earn most of their AD thru the higher level queues not in RIQ or RAQ.
edited a mistake on users name @namelesshero347 i get why you would be upset but lets just go over a math lesson real fast so 2 characters costs 250 zen correct? so by that standard 30 characters would cost 15 x 250 = 7500 zen than if they purchased a epic mount thats a additional 3500 zen so they would've spent about $110 not including the 7% digital goods tax not including the chance that they bought the dragonborn or any of the other race packs yet for some reason it seems you would want them penalized for wanting to play more than 2 characters. so my thoughts are if a player is putting time and effort into their characters than why constantly obsess over them. btw i have only seen a person sit at a fire in illusionist gambit after the party tried to force the group to run all 3 rounds even though that was on pc not on console and the one sitting in the fire wasn't a alt just a unlucky level 32 that got pulled in there from random leveling so in the old way it was run "you could only enter skirmishs or dungeons set to your level" yet river district through a wrench in that with illusionist gambit but ofcourse you would probably have not been around for that since it was pre mod 4 alongside the good old epic dungeon gear you used to be able to run epic dungeon with a rare chance at getting a piece of gear specific to the dungeon (ie epic tos gave you a spider set ,epic wolf den gave you the wolf set and each set gave you different stats that were considered good gear reminder it used to be gear score not item level) but instead we get piles of trash (ie elemental alliance gear) just to make it clear i was talking about back when you could queue up for any dungeon and get astrals upon completion by turning in the quest to rhix coinciding with a standard or epic dungeon key. random dungeons along with the new astral diamond system which is flawed are just 2 of the many issues that has caused the game to change for the worst so instead of whining about players that support the game (ie the lifeblood of neverwinter) maybe just maybe consider the thought if i farmed out for a while on this game i can make zen and level up another 2 or more characters to make more astrals instead of getting offended over a player making more astrals over more characters because with time and effort you to could've been making a decent amount of astral diamonds but in the old way you would run your dungeon skirmish epic dungeon and pvp but neverwinter stepped on their own toes and killed pvp the day that they came out with random queues the hardcore pvp players stayed but they slowly died off to iwd and 2x glory events along with stronghold siege. hopefully you understand that i was specifically talking about bringing back rhix's job that was cruelly stolen from him by a random queue none the less.
sorry if you made it this far through my rant i started this game during launch and made characters throughout the newer modules to keep the game feeling fresh and fun but it is becoming obvious hardcore gamers are less welcome than casuals that may never spend a dime for instance if i have a 14k cleric level 70 and a 12k rogue level 70 along with a 10k paladin level 70 along with a 11k ranger those are my 4 mains not including my wizard level 70 who can't run dungeons anymore do to you're beloved random dungeons because they need a certain item level to run instead of having the character run dungeons within their level capabilities but than again you might not know about that
The 30 minute timer is just fine. I see PoM and I’m gone. I hate that skirmish. It takes a couple of clicks to get a reinforcement from my abandonment.
If they gave us a way to block players that we don't want to be queued with - problem solved.
Its called Blocking them on Xbox. They cannot be queued in the random system with you if you've blocked them.
Many ideas have been produced over time. Penalties for multiple AFK kicks in X amount of time, removing the 5 minute afk kick timer, Allowing people to kick in Gambit (because you can't). I agree something needs to be done.
As someone who had 8 toons I ran daily through the old 36k AD system, I found it easier to gear the alts with seal gear and low enchants then to try to be carried. I know several people who started to "Hope for a good queue" on some characters, but found it more rewarding to gear up toons just slightly so we could carry through most content we were likely to run into. I wouldn't mind a return to a time based reward system as I think we had less AFK'ers on Console back then (PC has them, but they do worse things where they can actually walk away from the screen). The AD gate makes leveling multiple characters a very rough situation.
I get why we are gated as the economies are collapsing on all systems, but I honestly played more. There are days I log in and have nothing to do. I run my 4 queues, get my AD, then what? I'm done with campaigns, I've earned my AD, now what? When I spent 2-3 hours running queues, I had something to work toward. I could level an alt, but why? I won't be getting the ridiculous number of marks any time soon as I don't have the AD for it.

Yes please god yes. Give me the ability to block these people. Especially afk farmers in cta events.

Blocking doesn't work at all on PS4, and I don't think you can do it on pc, either.
