Feedback - Workshop Upgrade to Level 4 a little bit expensive?

callumf#9018 callumf Member Posts: 1,710 Arc User
Is it really 5 million AD or am I misreading the zeros?

Of course you can craft your way there... but wouldn't that take until the End of Time to achieve?

Yes, it would take until the end of time and since I was L70 in everything and had all my slots open, I strongly object to PAYING to get professions back to the top level. Just Cryptic stealing my money again. Done with professions & maybe NWO.

Workshop cost is crazy. It should be account based and not alt based. And they removed the easier options and less expensive
with the last patch. and no mention of it in notes.

I don't see much reason to play anymore.

So.... when do we get the "wow, this is great" comments? Hell, I have no idea how I am even suppose to get to LV 3, there is no path or clear indication of how to do that.

Its not different then R12 bondings nerf and repaying for the same exact power to R14 .. I objected heavily and even quit the game and didnt pay them a dime after I left.

For some strange reason, this playerbase , or vast majority of it, doesnt vocalize things that are ridiculous in nature. I dont mind paying for things, but paying for something, then having them make you repay it a year or two down the road, seems terrible to me.

It can be done much, much cheaper. Just figure out how.
    Hoping for improvements...

The problem is that the crafted items just don't give enough credit, why would I donate my +1 blue neck for 3500 when I can clear 20K on the AH and donate the ADs, realistic values on donated items would help.

Does anybody know what you get for 5 million besides six more delivery box slots ?

It unlocks Epic artisans. They don't show up very often and opinions vary over how useful they are.

You also unlock Kamala (an Epic artisan for you to decide which profession she should be).
I did not pay any AD. I just craft stuff. So far, I made 14 workshop 4 and slowly toward the 15th.
I don't know how useful they are or will be. I just do them in the back burner.

The fact that many workshops have been upgraded to level 4 indicates that it is not too expensive. I will grant you that currently there is not much incentive to do it. I got 5 workshops to level 4 shortly after starting each one back when the professions were re-worked.

No, all that indicates is that it is possible. Just because some desperate autists grind their souls into oblivion by no means excuses the costs.

Do you forget that Cryptic is doing everything in their power to take AD out of circulation. This is one of the more effective AD sinks in the game. Like most good AD sinks, you do not have to participate in it. And there must be many "desperate autists" in the game because there are a lot of rank 4 workshops. Far more than there are complaining about the cost. If you do not think it is worth the price, don't do it.

This "desperate autist" (me) did not spend much effort to make 14 workshop 4. What it takes is time and it is not really my time neither. Set up one task, pick up the craft day(s) later. submit the loot on certain day. Let the clock does the work. I am not desperate enough to do that fast. I am not one of those "I want it now" people. Unlike other type of "hand on" grinding, this one is more or less "hand off" operation and is pretty easy. I just let the in-game legal "bot" (aka artisans) do the work.

Bear in mind that this post was originally started nearly 2 years ago and then resurrected 2 days ago by a new user ( with the 2 year gap between posts ) .
I myself have 27 toons all at level 4 so I guess I am at the other end of the spectrum . Takes a bit of work but you can get there in the end .
Now as to wether that end at the moment is of any benefit you would have to decide for yourself .
There is a planned update to professions shortly but what it will entail no-one knows yet so maybe some hope in the future .
