Lycan Boots of the Pack - Work with Augment Companions?

There's nothing in the description that says it can't. Ioun Stones would
always be within 50' and something like a cat may drift past 50'...
But does anyone know for sure if it gives the bonus while using an augment?

    Good question... I've seen my ioun stone way behind me before....

    I hate paying taxes! Why must I pay thousands of dollars in taxes when everything I buy is taxed anyways!

    Well, I have had a Radiant Ioun stone die when I was standing near the entrance to the first dungeon, in the first area in Sharandar.
    It somehow fell off the vine that goes down to the entrance, and I got the message that my companion has died and has to be summoned again...

    I have an ioun stone and the boots, and its difficult to judge whether they are... at least I did a test in my SH where I wasnt getting and buffs... and it didnt appear to be.

    @nitocris83 Julia, can we get confirmation if this is working as intended or a bug?
