Gender in appearance change vs reroll?

I was toying around in Preview with my toon to see how it would look on the other side of the fence, so to speak, ie: gender. It is only changed via reroll, it seems.

So I was wondering: what about making gender of the toon be able to be changed via appearance tokens? I mean, in the game it is only "aesthetic" so to speak, as in you don't get benefit/con for using one gender or another, so, why not?
(Altough, with gender it would come toon name change I guess)

You can change it using the Race Reroll token.

I already said so... since gender is not a race, was saying to move it / add it to appearance

I would have zero problem with them adding gender as a function of appearance change, since that's all it is.
Male or female, the stats and abilities are the same.

There have existed items in D&D that could change a character's gender, and I think that the game should make such a change a little more affordable. Maybe some group of RPers out there would be willing to go in on an appearance change for some character where a race change might be a little too expensive.

Also, I would like to see them add changing place of origin, background (chosen according to place of origin), and patron diety to the race reroll tokens.

I may have been fine with my Human Paladin being from Neverwinter, having the monastic tradition background (whatever it is specifically called), and following Torm, but if I change him to a Half-Orc I might think that Tempus is a better fit, and maybe want to move him out of Neverwinter, and if I make him an Elf or Half-Elf, I may think that Myth Drannor or the Dalelands might be more appropriate, and that Corellon might be a better choice of patrons.

That I can not change the fluff associated with my character was a jarring detail that I discovered after paying for a race change.
Now I find myself interested in another race change or two, but without being able to fill in the background details the way that I want for the changed characters, I can't see a reason why I shouldn't just reroll.

It's only going to cost me time, but why spend that time playing what I do not like, even if playing higher level content, when I can spend it playing something that I like more?

If they made the tokens, whether they be appearance or race change, a little more all-encompassing and maybe there would be less re-rolling and more money being spent.

Unless they think that people will just pay max money to get the rerolled character to where the other one was... Buy the level-up tokens, buy a variety of purple companions and mounts, buy the best gear that they can to get started, etc.
