Loot rolls on greens - Really?

reg1981reg1981 Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 1,435 Arc User
I pickup EVERYTHING! I leave no treasure behind. Setup was great before, no loot roll at all on greens and I could pick until my heart was content. Now I go into a little random and get told off for filling other players inventories. I picked up EVERYTHING as usual and got maybe 2 in my bag, the rest went to someone who was less than impressed with it.

My loot threshold is Blue yet it still rolls.

Working as intended?

Loot threshold is likely set by party leader, so I'd guess it's working, yes.

Who's the leader in a random? Or how is that determined?

I think the other player has to set THEIR loot to not go for greens if they don't want it.

Yep. Players need to set their own thresholds. 'Course, my standard response would be to keep picking up green stuff.

I have forwarded the thread. I do believe it's working as intended, but I do think that the devs should probably change that to make it so that players can set their own thresholds, because it's really annoying in random groups.

I haven't checked yet, but the announcement in the feedback thread said we would be able to do that.

"Each player has a personal loot threshold which will determine what rarity of loot they want to roll on. Example, if you set your threshold to "rare" you would pass on all uncommon loot rolls."

If this isn't working, this should be a bug report not in feedback.

I originally opened this thread as feedback but it seems it may be a bug.

My loot threshold is set to blue, I assumed that by setting it blue there would be no roll and I would get what I picked up(greens). Others in my guild agree with you pitshade that if it's set to blue they would be excluded from the greens going to their bags.

This is taken from the dev notes:

"Each player has a personal loot threshold which will determine what rarity of loot they want to roll on. Example, if you set your threshold to "rare" you would pass on all uncommon loot rolls."

This here tells me I was mistaken in how I viewed the setting however with my loot set to blue I do still receive greens when RNG sees it fit. Of all the greens I picked up, I got 2. The rest went to other players one of which really wasn't impressed lol

Now that I understand how it's expected to work I'll play with it some more tonight! My loot settings would explain why I was filling their bags and not my own but doesn't explain why I ended up getting a green belt and neck during the run.

So I played with this a bit more
With my loot settings set to blue I roll a 0 every time on greens. WAI.
I still have no idea what the rolls looked like yesterday but I did get 2 greens at some point with my loot settings at blue.
With my loot settings blue I can continue to pickup every green item and fill others bags.

Due to the fact that black pearls are uncommon items, many of us will leave our threshold green. The new system is great, I don't have to panic while fighting to clear a box on the screen! Would using it on rare, epic items only work? Use a free for all/unique drop per person for uncommons?

Whoever is set as group leader, will determine the loot roll. If you put together a private group, it'll roll on blue, based on your settings. You could have a friend start a group, and his might be set to green, so you'll roll on green. Mine is set to epic (purple), but sometimes if I join another person's group, it'll want to roll on everything, until I explain to them how to change their settings..

Personal thresholds do not seem to be working in public queues. (you should have the ability to pass on gear based on the threshold you set) Public queues are static for loot because you can't modify the rules, BUT, we still need to ability to pass, which doesn't work unless you're in a group that CAN set the rules... which is not really where the problem is coming from.
