While the Devs in NW overuse, abuse and misuse RNG, to the point of player tears and misery, in this case, you indeed shouldn't spend a dime on the game. Instead, you can spend some on KhanAcademy, or Coursera to take basic probability class. Then you will realize that with 10k players upgrading, on average, there will be you and 499 like you that will fail a 5% chance.
The only way to have assured success, is to have 100% chance of success, but oh look and behold you have only 95%. And with 5% failure it's not only enough to make large population to fail, it also enough that the intersection of those that failed and those that forum posts about that have at least one member. Congratulations.

Probability in the real world does not imply in this game for obvious reasons being revenue. I can go 10/10 on fails on a 50% success rate refinement and say its just bad luck but please for things that are all too obvious for those who have stayed long enough to know.

At 50% chance, ~0.1% percent will fail 10 attempts. Meaning out of 10k players, 10 people will fail (on average) 10 attempts at 50% chance.
If you would have failed 10 at 95%, which is 9.76x10^-12 % then it's very good reason for a video and a post. Failing a first attempt on 95% chance is not an indicator of foul play, it's more like a good reason to get one of these:
Oh and please, don't compare veterancy with me. Or obviousness of things...

Veterancy?! You piqued my interest. If you don't mind just exactly how old are you just curious

Aren't we all 10 years old deep inside, and 30+ on the outside. +5, +10, +20, but still everyone just 30+. But I was referring to the game play, not only it's irrelevant, you are on ps4, PC automatically few years on you..
Failing a 95% chance does suck, but the reagents were free, just go get some more reagents, they drop all over the place, I throw out dozens of these every day so its a very low loss imo. Linking monetary contribution in support of a game you like (or dislike) to a bad roll seems a bit extreme, if you failed it twice in a row I would understand a bit more but the odds are just the odds, sorry your roll was bad.
